The Seventh UAP File Release: Black Triangles Over Secure Sites, FBI Agent Interviews and a 1950s Archive Dig
On October 23, 2026, the Department of War published its seventh release of declassified UAP files, 28 new records that bring the public PURSUE archive to 478 files. It arrived 35 days after the sixth batch, and its centerpiece is not a decades-old case but a 2026 FBI interview: federal agents at a sensitive site in the Western United States describing a silent black triangle that rose, slid sideways and dove back down.
Around that sit three more black-triangle reports over sensitive military sites, a Department of War rendering of the shape, and an archive trawl through 1950s flying saucer reports from Sweden, Saudi Arabia and Catalina Island. As with every batch, the records come with no conclusions. Here is what is in the Seventh UAP release, what is new, and what is not.
The Black Triangle at the Secure Site
According to reporting on the release, the FBI record (listed as FBI-UAP-D043, an FD-302 titled “Unidentified Aerial Object Observation Report, 2026”) documents two federal agents at a sensitive location in the Western United States. They saw a black, triangular aircraft about three miles away. It was reported as roughly nine to 15 feet across, about six feet deep and two feet thick, with no typical aircraft lights and no sound.
The object reportedly rose about 200 feet, moved sideways and dove back down. Thermal equipment detected no heat signature. Three further reports describe a black triangle over sensitive military sites, and the Pentagon published a rendering of the shape.
Older Records and the BAASS Report
The batch also reaches back: a metallic, elliptical object in Sweden (1953), an unusual sighting in Saudi Arabia (1957), and multiple flying saucer sightings on Catalina Island, California. A DOW record identified as D171 is a BAASS monthly report from June 2009. Images include an artist’s interpretation of an incident over Bagram Air Force Base and an image of a reported UAP aboard a U.S. military platform in 2025; the reports I read gave no further detail on either.
Skinwalker Ranch, Utah, appears with declassified reports of alleged paranormal activity.
Where It Fits in the Series
Release one came May 8, 2026 with 162 files, and the series has run roughly monthly since: May 22, June 12, July 10, August 7, September 18 and now October 23. The Department says more will follow on a rolling basis and it is working on the next release. Our coverage of the sixth batch, including the 1952 Tremonton, Utah question, is on this site.
Nothing in the records reached a conclusion about what the objects were. As Unknown Country put it, an unresolved classification may reflect too little evidence rather than a finding of anything exotic.
“The records offer no conclusions or theories about what the objects were.”
— Reporting on the seventh release, October 23, 2026
The new batch is thin on answers and heavy on sensitive-site triangles. The test for the next release is whether the 2026 FBI material comes with data (thermal, radar, imagery) or only with witness statements.
