RETURN OF THE ANGELS; UFOs in Israel, Past and Present

CHAPTER ONE-The Kadima Landings
In late February of 1993,a pretty woman in her early twenties, Ginat Aharoni left her home in the town of Tel Mond,some three miles from Kadima, and drove towards the coastal city of Netanya to pick her mother up at the train station. She took a dark,lonely road on this cloudless night. Near the village of Tel Yitzhak,a very bright object passed over her vehicle at a height of no more than thirty feet.
Ginat was more astounded than terrified and took the trouble of making note of details. Her object was round and about forty feet in diameter. Around its rim were some twenty lights,orange and glowing, which moved counter- clockwise slowly. She guessed than one light at a time was darkened to give an illusion of movement.
Eleven months later, she is at her spacious home recalling the event. “I knew what I saw was no plane or helicopter because it was so low I could see it. I don’t think it was much higher than the ceiling here.I told my parents and boyfriend what I saw. My father still thinks I had mistaken the object for something explainable. But what I saw was not explainable.
Fortunately,the object passed over me in a matter of ten seconds so I wasn’t traumatized by the experience.”
Ginat apparantly saw the same object that actually landed alongside the Tulkarem-Netanya road at about eight in the evening. This UFO was also described as being surrounded by orange,circling lights. Outside the village of Kfar Yonah,it landed for about a minute and cars pulled over to get a better look until it slowly rose and flew northward. The incident took place about ten miles from Kadima and was the first reported landing of as many as twenty in the next few months.
Kadima is a town of some five thousand souls in the center of the coastal region of Israel called in Hebrew,the Sharon. To locate it on a map,one looks half way between Tel Aviv and Haifa and finds the city of Netanya.
About ten miles east is Kadima.
This is citrus country and while Netanya has few open spaces,Kadima is surrounded by lush orchards and green meadows. At least,they’re green in March when the UFOs decided this was the place they would investigate.
Three quarters of Kadima’s citizens live in cramped three storey apartment blocks. They are physically separated from HaPalmach Street by about a mile and mentally by the diameter of an alien space ship. The ships did not land near the city center and people there have barely heard of the space invasion that occurred nearby. In fact,not many have even heard of HaPalmach Street.
Further separating the town from the street is what is called the Kadima Forest. In fact it is a grove of, mostly, eucalyptus trees that serves as the town’s largest picnic grounds. Hapalmach Street is the northwest border of Kadima. To its west there is no more town,just a significant meadow.
The people of Hapalmach Street live in their own separate houses and some are luxurious. They all boast spacious grounds of about a quarter of an acre. At one time Kadima was a communal farm settlement,or moshav, and,in fact,it is still a moshav on the books. HaPalmach Street in 1993 was the still an unpaved farm road connecting homes of the original settlers. But agriculture is no longer much of a source of income for the residents.
The people of moshav Kadima are a mix of European and Sephardic Jews who have very different cultures but do get along. Tsiporet Carmel and Shosh Yahud are clearly different types of people. Tziporet is Israeli-born,very fair and extremely vivacious. She speaks in the peculiar enthusiastic lilt of the landed Ashkenazi. Her father was a renowned pilot in the Israeli Airforce and she more than dabbles in literature. She is quite pretty in person and absolutely stunning in pictures and on television. She accentuates her features with her hair dyed blonder than nature intended.
She raises Great Danes and seven of them fill the air with their sounds and the house with their smells.The house is unkempt in the style of a certain artistic personality found worldwide.And in keeping with this free spirited character,she has a young daughter and no husband.
Shosh still speaks in heavily Arabic-intoned Hebrew and is a first- generation Israeli. She is dark,with hair reddened by henna.When her children misbehave she turns stern and they capitulate. Her husband is a blue-collar laborer and her home is immaculate.Like Tsiporet,she is in her late thirties but that is all they seem to have in common.Except that they both met a visitor from another planet.
At 6:30 in the morning of March 20,1993,Tsiporet awoke and went to her kitchen.This was not her usual pattern,as she explains. “I’m a late sleeper and I seldom get up that early.And this was Saturday,a day I always sleep late. But something disturbed me and I felt drawn to walk to the kitchen.
When I got there,the room was bathed in a strange light,this even though the sun was up. I went outside and checked the grounds. As I went around the storage shed I noticed what I thought was a new fruit silo in the field about a hundred meters from me.I remembered thinking,why would anyone put a silo there and in the middle of the night at that?
“I took a closer look at the silo and realized this was no ordinary container. It was silver colored for one thing,which is not standard for silos. It seemed square shaped from the angle I was looking. Along its side were eighteen glowing square windows which looked like diamonds in a necklace. Five huge beams of powerful light shone from the roof into the northern sky. And the silo was emitting what looked like sparklers along its side. I guessed the size of the silo to be about five meters in length and about three meters high. But then it seemed to grow another storey. By that I mean,a second section materialized and doubled the height of the silo.
“Then I saw what,at first,I thought was a worker a few meters from the silo.
When I saw him,so did the dogs and they went crazy.The worker was over seven feet tall and wore metallic overalls,something like aluminum foil. He wore a sombrero with a veil that covered his face that in totality looked like a beekeeper’s hat.
“We both stared at each other for,perhaps thirty seconds and I realized finally who he was. I quietly whispered,”Why don’t you take off your hat so I can see your face?” I heard his answer clearly in my head. He said in Hebrew,’Kakha zeh,’meaning,that’s the way it is. After that,I felt impelled to go back to my kitchen and boil some coffee. When I went back outside,the ship and its occupant was gone.”
Tziporet took her time reacting to the strange morning. After a few days she told a friend,Tsipi Maayan, what happened and they walked to the field to see if any evidence of the incident remained. They found a round circle of dead vegetation,or rather “dissolved vgetation,”about fifteen feet in diameter and protruding from it a path and then another circle of about four feet in diameter where the tall visitor had stood.
Instead of calling the police immediately,the two returned from the site and told other neighbors. Rumors spread throughout the moshav and one moshavnik had the foresight to seek out both UFO investigators and the press. Both descended on the site and thus was born Israel’s most publicized UFO encounter of 1993.
Among the UFO investigators who flocked to Kadima for this and subsequent landings were,Doron Rotem,Ami Achrai,Rachel Hendl,Avi Grief and Yoram Torbatian. Also present after the first landing was a neighbour, Danny Yaacobi,who would become the most controversial researcher of the Kadima landings.
The investigators found burnt ground that emitted an acrid smell of incinerated rubber. This smell would accompany other landings and its significance has not yet been determined.Also found was a black oily substance with a sweet smell and the odd capacity of dissolving any vegetative material including plants and clothes. Later testing proved the substance was not flammable.
But Doron Reshef discovered the most significant find of all;dozens of shards of a grey,shiny material. It was like nothing the investigators had seen before.It was incredibly light,so light that it seemed to have no weight at all. Yet it was so strong it cut through glass and resisted chipping from hammer blows. Further testing proved it absorbed heat and cold instantaneously.
This material was tested in a government laboratory a few weeks later and the results were both astounding and controversial.
One side effect of the field research was sickness,as Tsiporet explains,”I was nauseous for days,had horrible diarrea, fits of shivering and couldn’t stop sleeping. It was like a bad flu.”
Others experienced the same effect,including the author of this book. Danny Yaacobi swears that after the sick feeling ended,his arthritis of the knees that forced him to walk with a cane,disappeared. Avi Grief experienced the same phenomenon as he elaborates,”I had a painfully weak ankle that always impaired me. It was repaired after visiting the Carmel landing site and has never returned. My theory is that there is something healing in the initial sick feeling.”
By the time the author arrived at the first landing site eight months later, not much had apparently changed. In the midst of thick vegetation was a circle of sandy soil where very little grew. Tsiporet warned me not to stay too long but I couldn’t resist looking for signs of the landing that might have been overlooked. After scratching through the burnt and charred remains of wood and plastic and digging through the still burnt roots of former plant life for about twenty minutes,I felt genuinely lousy like a flu was approaching and spent the remainder of the day mooching pain killers from the people I was interviewing.
I told Tsiporet that if she hadn’t have planted the suggestion in the first place,I wouldn’t have had a psychosomatic reaction. She replied,”It wouldn’t have made a difference. Everyone who stays too long at the spot gets sick after.”
The next landing behind Tsipora’s house was in the early morning of March 30. Once again a circle of dessicated and dying plant life betrayed the visit.
This time the site offered a new clue about interstellar technology. A red,oily material was streaked throughout the landing site. This material proved evcn more sickening to a number of people than whatever was left behind after the first landing,as we shall soon see with the case of Shosh Yahud.
On top of its sickening powers,the oil was not easily removed from skin as Rachel Hendl recalls.
” I gathered a vial full of the stuff and put it in my car. But when I got back home I got scared and threw it out. I didn’t know what it was,maybe it was radioactive. When I returned inside,I tried to wash it off my hands but it wouldn’t come out. I scrubbed so hard my hands almost fell off but it took days before it went away. I couldn’t understand it,the material wasn’t sticky and was easily removed from my clothes but it stuck to skin.
Luckily,it didn’t cause any harm.”
The next day,March 31,another circle was discovered,the third in eleven days. Once again the investigators descended and again,they took back a significant haul of the strange,shiny material they had collected at the first site.
And thus ended the landings behind Tsipora Carmel’s home. However,the effects remained within her. To this day Tsipora sees auras around peoples’
faces and believes she has gained healing power.As we shall see,she is not alone among witnesses who shares that belief.
Nor was she the last person in Kadima affected by the UFOs.
At 2:30 in the morning of May 31,Shosh Yahud was awoken by a huge bang,”like a big picture fell.” She then,”woke up and saw this strange,human- looking creature standing over me,just looking. I wasn’t frightened because I wasn’t certain I was awake.I heard a voice in my head saying,”Don’t be afraid. I won’t hurt you.”He then circled my bed and looked around for as short time.
“The room was lighted just enough for me to get a good look at him.He was over seven feet tall,thin and bald. His eyes were round and had the look of traffic light. His face was round too and quite kind.He seemed to be walking on air,rather than on the floor. The whole experience lasted only a few minutes.
“For the rest of the night,my whole body was itchy and I scratched. I never scratch, so that was a unique reaction.About two hours later I walked to my balcony and saw two circles on the lawn below. Then I went back to sleep and sort of forgot about the whole night.
“The next day,I was talking with a neighbor and found out lots of people had seen a UFO the night before. The whole neighborhood was gossiping about it.
That jarred me and I told her what I thought happened to me several hours before. We both walked to my backyard and there were the two circles. The grass inside them looked like it had been swirled clockwise by a big fan.”
The neighbor ran to another neighbor,Yossi Yitzhak, a contractor with a good collection of tools in his home. He brought a magnetometer to Shosh’s home and began testing.
The two circles registered very high magnetism. So did Shosh’s bedroom.
Magnetic levels were normal everywhere else on the property. Within the circles was the red fluid that had sickened Tsipora Carmel. For three days after the visitation Shosh,too,suffered from nauseau,severe headaches,goosebumps and shivering. After she recovered,she made the mistake of going into her backyard and the symptoms returned. The lesson learned,she waited months before venturing there again.
The ufologists descended on the home and made notes. Shosh’s husband was sleeping downstairs on the living room couch. He had not heard the boom nor was his sleep disturbed. All doors were locked in the morning and the windows showed no signs of forced entry. In order to enter,the alien had to float through the wall to get to Shosh’s second storey bedroom.
Unlike Tsipora’s landings,which were in an open field,Shosh’s two UFOs landed precisely in a fenced yard not much bigger than the ships themselves.
Their diameters were measured at 4.5 meters each.Eight months later,the circles were clearly visible as the grass within had grown to only half the height of the surrounding grass.
The ufologists tried to draw conclusions from the incidents and a consensus reached was that the ships were suffering mechanical trouble.That would explain why Tsipora saw them in broad daylight and why they chose to hide in Shosh’s yard. Doron Rotem believed the trouble may have started on May 20,when one of the ships tilted and touched the ground while it was spinning.
Hence the shards that were scattered about the field behind Tsipora’s house.
He was convinced that the material was part of the protective shield covering the UFOs.
The explanation was only partly satisfying. What had yet to be answered was why the aliens did so much exploring in Kadima. The mystery only deepened when the strange story of Mara emerged.
Shosh lives about two hundred yards south of Tsipora. About the same distance north,at the very end of HaPalmach Street,a new immigrant couple from Russia was renting a home. The wife’s name was Mara and she could not be located for the purposes of this book. She had moved and cut all contact with the nightmare moshav of Kadima. Her story is recorded from the scrupulous interviews conducted with ufologists Doron Reshef, Yoram Torbatian and Avi Grief.
Mara’s story was discovered as an afterthought. One day in the summer of 1993,her husband told a neighbor that he was thinking of moving because the house he rented was “haunted.” He described his wife hearing voices and strange bangings on the walls that they both heard. Word reached the ufologists who separately made trips,once again to Kadimah.
First on the scene was Torbatian who discovered a flattened circle in Mara’s backyard and four clear indentations within. He measured the circle at 4.30 meter’s diameter while the diameters of the indentations were 325 cm.,245 cm.,270 cm. and 290 cm. Totally convinced the Russian couple had been visited,the ufologists pieced together their story.
At 12:30 A:M, April 24,1993,the couple’s house was shaken by a boom so powerful,it jiggled the 300 lb. air-conditioner out of the wall. Their first reaction was that they had felt the effects of an unusually powerful sonic boom.
A half hour later,a second boom rocked the house,this time accompanied by the terrified barking of the neighnor’s dog. The couple called the police.
Officers arrived and offered no explanation for the noise but did not dismiss the couple as cranks since the evidence of the air-conditioner was in full view and the dog had not quietened.
For the next few months,Mara heard distinct voices,not within her head as Shosh and Tsiporet reported,but from the walls, calling to her in her childhood nickname. The message most often repeated was,”Come to us,Marishka. Come to us.”
While Shosh gives reluctant interviews to this day,and Tsiporet enjoys the limelight,Mara found her UFO experience terrifying. She abandoned Kadima and has broken all contact with her former neighbors and the ufologists.
Danny Yaacobi lives three houses south of Tsipora on HaPalmach Streeet. He is the only resident claiming to have been abducted by the aliens and before reporting his story,we will jump ahead.
After the first Kadima landings,the city of Tiberius on the Sea of Galilee was the scene of some dramatic UFO appearances. The sheer number of witnesses impelled Israel Television host,Manny Peer to conduct an hour-long show dedicated to the subject of UFOs. At the time,Israel had only two television channels and as much as half the country’s viewing population would tune into Manny Peer.
As we shall soon see,the show was the impetus for other witnesses to come forward but more to the immediate point, Peer revealed a remarkable document to the Israeli public.
The Israeli government’s Geological Survey Institute (GSI) had tested the material found in the field behind Tsiporet’s house and Peer had the report.
The fact that a branch of the government had tested the material was important but what made the report even more authoritative was that it was signed by the head of the institute’s chemical testing laboratory,Dr. Henry Fohner.
The document begins by explaining that the material was subjected to two tests and that the results are corroborative thus are to be considered conclusive.
The report’s conclusion was that,”The material is composed of elemental silicone,” and then underlined for emphasis,”A material not found on this planet.”
This is remarkable testimony. In a rare instance of official openness,a government document admits that UFO detritus cannot be explained in earthly terms.
The significance of the report was explained by Peer,who throughout the show, played the role of the bemused skeptic. He told the viewers that,”The kind of pure silicone produced on earth,is created out of a combination of sand,polymers and acids in laboratories. The silicone tested at the GSI has so signs of artificial manufacture. It is,in fact,an element on its own.”
The ufologists have different interpretations of the report. According to Doron Rotem,”Our technicians leave microscopic impurities in manufactured silicone. The material from Kadima was purer than anything made on Earth.”
Ruth Hendl sees the importance in different terms. She insists,”The form of the silicone was unique,as if it had been mined. No company manufactures silicone rocks.”
Yoram Torbatian has investigated the material left behind at Kadima more closely than anyone and it was he who first submitted the various shards and oils to another laboratory at the Biological Institute of Israel, located at Ness Tziona.His interpretation is the most educated in this case.
“The laboratory subjected the materials to a number of tests including differential thermal analysis and x-ray spectograph. After determining that the material was silicone,they photographed the surface and discovered that it was pocked with pores with a diameter of about half a millimeter each.
It’s as if the pores were drilled into the material. This is what distinguishes their silicone from ours.
“My contact at the lab was Dr. Michael Dvorchik. He told me that the year before,he had tested the same material. It was brought to him by a resident of the Negev Desert,Dr. Akiva Flexer. Flexer claimed that it fell from the sky but would not elaborate.”
(Ruth Hendl received a report from a soldier that he found a great deal of the material he saw on the Manny Peer show in the Negev while on a training mission).
Torbatian collected the red oil that sickened Shosh,Tsipora and others and placed it in a container made of anodized aluminum and covered it with almuninum foil. Two weeks later the aluminum had corroded and partly dissolved. He was later told by Dvorchik that it was the magnesium used in the anodizing process that had dissolved.
Dvorchik’s lab found that the red oil was mostly cadmium,a material used on Earth in the manufacture of batteries and known for its ability to withstand high temperatures.
After the Peer Show,the GSI and Dvorchik were given strict instructions by unnamed authorities to desist from making official reports. Dvorchik persisted in leaking reports to the ufologists for a week after the order was given,then broke off contact. It is one of his analyses that will play a huge role in the veracity of Danny Yaacobi’s story.
Torbatian sums up the silicone controversy. “Dr. Dvorchik told me that silicone could be purchased and pores drilled into it if someone wanted to perpetuate a fraud. But whoever did it,would have to be very wealthy since silicone,in the amount found would cost thousands of dollars even before its appearance was changed.It’s just not a remotely feasible con.”
Before delving into the claims of Danny Yaacobi,one more character in the Kadima flap must be introduced. He is Eli Cohen,the man who captured a Kadima UFO on videotape.
All the ufologists and interested witnesses agree;Eli Cohen is one of the most genuine of the personalities in the Kadima drama and that his evidence is essential to unravelling the whys of the invasion.
Eli lives in Pardessia,a moshav three miles north of Kadima. He is young,good-looking and ambitious. I am privileged to catch him at an opportune moment. He has just returned home with his latest product. It is an AM/FM radio shaped like a space ship with an inner disc and upper and lower domes. The speaker is in the lower dome while the upper dome can be turned to adjust the stations.
He proudly displays it and in a speedy,animated voice exclaims,”They just arrived from Hong Kong today. It’s my design,no one else has thought of it.
I’ve already received orders from Europe and the Americans will love it.”
This is not Cohen’s only UFO money-making project. His collection of UFO anecdotes was professionally recorded and will soon be sold in cassette form. He pulls out a fax and announces that a company will back him to open an 800 telephone service,providing UFO stories to callers for two dollars a minute.
“I never used to read,I’m not proud of that but it’s true. But after I saw the spaceship I couldn’t stop reading. Every book was about UFOs. I became obsessed with them.”
His wife is lovely,maybe twenty-five years old.She enters the living room with their month old baby. Eli rushes to her with the radio and begs her to examine it. She ignores it and hands him the infant. She walks away muttering,”More UFO nonsense.”
Eli holds the baby and begins to tell his story. He becomes more animated as the tale unfolds.
“My first sighting was at three in the morning,on September 26,1991. I woke up with this strange feeling that someone was outside. I took my gun from the drawer and went to the kids’ room. I saw a light outside and thought it was a car so I went back to my bedroom and woke up my wife. My wife saw the
same thing as I did,a ray of light,like a searchlight,beamed on the orchard outside from a strange object in the sky. Then it was gone.
“The next night at the same time, I woke up with a feeling that it’s out there. I opened the bedroom window and I saw a light in the sky,like a fireball,shaped like an eye. It hovered above the orchard and bounced like a yo-yo. Thirty seconds later it flew away at tremendous speed.
“That day I took action. First, I phoned Hadassah Arbel. Everyone now says she’s nuts but she handled my conversation professionally.”
Hadassah Arbel is Israel’s pioneer ufologist and her name will reappear in conjunction with other incidents.
“She told me to gather evidence and I went to work. I had a friend in Herzlia with a video camera and I invited him to come over that night and asked a couple of friends to stay the night to act as witnesses.
“We played cards until five past three in the morning and then it appeared.
It was less impressive than the times before but it still lit up the room.
We filmed it for three hours. It would appear then disappear and we’d go back to the cards.Then it would come back and we’d film it. The film from the middle of the night turned out to be unclear but just as the sun rose at six,we filmed it for about thirty seconds and there is no mistaking what I had seen.”
Eli’s film shows a distant and tiny object bouncing in the air above the orchards of Pardessia. Doron Rotem had the film enlarged and the result is a clear picture of a hat-shaped vehicle with a flat bottom and dome above. The airship is grey-colored and two wings forming a V half-way up the dome from the flat bottom are visible. Whatever Eli Cohen filmed,it was not an airplane that anyone recognized.
The contrast between earthly aircraft and this ship was illustrated at 5:AM of Eli’s second sighting,when an Israeli Airforce plane crossed paths with the UFO. Eli believes the plane was a cargo vehicle not jet and it did not give chase.
Eli’s story and the indisputable proof of his film complicates the Kadima saga deeply. What his film proves is that a year and a half before the landing behind Tsiporet Carmel’s house,the aliens were scouting the area.
As for Eli Cohen,his career and outlook were altered dramatically.His focus became UFOs. “I don’t know why it happened to me,” he says,”But my life changed forever.”
Danny Yaacobi is a sculptor, aged about forty-five. His studio is behind his spacious house on HaPalmach Street. Inside the studio are statues in various stages of preparation,plaster casts,metal moulds and an oven for baking ceramics.
Also in his studio is a drawer full of UFO debris,photos and a map. The map is very important to him for it tracks all the UFO landings of Kadimah.
The are twelve sites clearly marked. Number one is Tsiporet’s field,dated May 20,30 and 31. The other sites follow Rehov HaPalmach to the Kadima Forest at approximately 500 yard hops every eleven days or so. Landing 2 was on 11/4/93,landing 3 on 21/4/93,500 yards from the previous spot,4 was on 22/4/93,another 500 yards east of the previous site and on until the tenth to twelfth landings which are marked in almost the exact spot in the forest.
“It got to the point,”he claims,”that we knew when and where there would be landings.” The we he refers to is a cadre of about ten residents he organized on a UFO watch.
In Danny’s drawer are six vials of UFO refuse. Two vials contain clear liquid which Danny says was analysed as liquid silicone.One vial smells foul and a leaf is floating within. It was found sprayed on trees and the unpleasant odor is from ammonia mixed in the silicone,probably as a plant preservative.Yoram Torbatian had the liquid tested at the national Biological Institute and says it was found to be liquid polyesterin.
Another vial is filled with a black gunk. Danny says it was originally glowing red and was found in one of the holes in the center of a landing circle. (The holes,about a meter deep, were in the center of the circles found at Tsipora and Shosh’s sites).It was originally glowing red but when touched with a stick,it immediately turned black.
Other vials contain the silicone shards but one example was special to him.
It was a chip from an actual interstellar device.It is rough on the inside,smooth on the outside and is about three inches by two in size.
The story of the device will soon be recounted and it is astounding but Danny has another story to relate first. He hasn’t even told his wife,which is just as well since she is exasperated by his UFO compulsion, but he was abducted by aliens.
“At 2:AM on May 13,”he begins,”I had a restless night,and felt compelled to get in my car. I drove to the forest and saw a ship shaped like a big egg. I got out of the car and immediately,a tiny being,maybe a meter and a half tall appeared. He said to me,’We were waiting for you.’He floated in front of me while I walked to the ship. I don’t remember how I got inside but it seemed huge,far bigger than it could have been judging by its outside dimensions. In the middle of the room was a pillar with an enormous pedestal. There were thirteen aliens in the room but only two led me to a side chamber where I was laid on a very comfortable sofa. As I lay down,one told me telepathically not to worry. I asked why I was there and he said,”You’re on a mission. You’ll know what it is in time.” Then they made an incision in my left wrist.The next thing I know I’m in my car travelling home.”
Yoram Torbatian says,”If he was on a mission,it was to drive us all crazy.
He set the tone for all the later sightings.” On another occasion Danny stood in the midst of a heat field.Outside the field,the weather was normal while inside it rose to 120 degrees F. Danny put his arms inside,then took them out several times. The next morning his arms were burnt red and would not return to normal for three weeks.
The device was spotted under a tree near three previous landings,on May 29.
It took four men to lift it out of the ground and seemed to weigh 300 lbs.
Once out of the ground,the weight dropped to 25 lbs.
The device looked like a round fruit cake with a hollowed middle and holes bored around the rim. Danny chipped off a piece and returned it to the ground. He posted a twenty-four hour guard from a distance of fifty yards away around the device and rushed to a friend who runs a security firm and returned with four infrared sensors.
The next few days were filled with adventure. At least three ships landed though they were not always visible. They lit up the small valley outside the forest but their form was not perceived.Danny photographed the phenomenon and the result is impressive. The little valley outside the forest is glowing in unnatural light while darkness envelops the forest behind. He also managed to take a photo of a UFO above the forest but it is far less convincing than the distinct image captured by Eli Cohen.
Two of the guards walked towards the light to confront the visitors. Danny and the others warned them not to but they ventured ahead anyway. Once the light disappeared and presumably the UFO had risen,the men went looking for the two adventurers. They were found,literally,frozen in their tracks in a catatonic state. Danny slapped them to snap them to life and when they awoke,they were shivering with cold.
Yoram Torbiatan interviewed the two men.”Neither of them remembers being frozen and they deny Yaacobi’s account. However,a circle was found the next day on the spot.”
Sometime during the early morning of May 29,the device disappeared and the four sensors surrounding it were burned out. The next night the device reappeared but in different form. It looked newer and it was cold,very cold.
The men searched for an industrial thermometer and measured the temperature of the device at 160 degrees C below zero.
The next night,the device disappeared never to reappear again. Eight months later the field surrounding the tree is flush with vegetation. Yet under the tree where the device was buried,is a circle with a diameter of about four feet, where nothing but a few sprouts of grass survives.
The leaves of the tree on the side where the device was buried are withered and sick. On the other side,they are full and healthy. I cut two branches,one from either side of the tree and took them home.
My wife never gets headaches. The next day she had a nasty one that persisted until I removed the branches from our house. Then she was cured.
Danny believes he has solved the mystery of Kadima. The UFOs were scouting the area until they located the device. That was the purpose of their invasion. Once the device was recovered,the Kadima flap ended.
At the time of the flap and after,all witnesses saw tall aliens.Only Danny’s were tiny. He believes that two races of aliens were after the device.He is also convinced the device was left behind,tens if not hundreds of thousands of years ago.He has no answer why it was still on the surface after so many eons had passed.
Nonetheless, he has a few advocates. Israel’s ufologists fall into two categories. The first are the Jack Webb types who only want the facts,ma’am.
They include Rotem,Torbatian,Hendl and Grief. This group deeply distrusts the ufologists who accept mystical or religious explanations for the phenomena. Those few who are willing to accept Danny’s conclusions fall into this category.The unelected leader of this school is Hadassah Arbel,who is convinced that the current wave of UFOs in Israel is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy.
Arbel notes that,”It’s written that the messiah from the house of David will be found in Kedem (Kadima). After Kadima,the next flap will be in Jerusalem.”
Danny Yaacobi is neither a pragmatist nor mystic.Having fallen between the cracks,he has few people in the Israeli UFO world who are prepared to say he is the man who cracked the mystery of Kadima. Of all the witnesses of the aliens in the Kadima area,he is the only one who claims he was informed that he was chosen for a mission, and one of two abductees. (The other will be discussed in Chapter Three).
Doron Rotem warned me ahead of time to,”Take everything Danny says with a grain of salt,he’s a bit crazy. But he’s collected a lot of factual data that you’ll find very interesting.”
An Israeli Air Force radar operator we have to call Yonah and who will give testimony later in this book adds,”You have to filter out Yaacobi’s information. Ninety percent is off the wall.”
Avi Grief bluntly states,”I ignore him completely. He endangers the integrity of our studies. The other landings at Kadima fall into a worldwide pattern and are objectively and provably real. Yaacobi is a loose cannon who can make a mockery of all our work.”
As far as Yoram Torbatian is concerned,”Danny rigged the whole device. I had it tested and it was composed of just the ceramic materials a sculptor could cook up in his furnace.”
Except for one problem,the outer covering of the device. Danny told me,”The scientist from the biological laboratory phoned me up and actually shouted at me,”This material contains practically every element found in the earth’s crust. It’s physically impossible to bond every element.”
Torbatian concurs,”Dr. Dvorchik told me the same thing. The covering is composed of an intricately linked compound of just about every element. What was missing was cobalt and lo and behold,Danny managed to find some cobalt near the device site right after.”
Despite his skepticism,the fact that the material covering the device is so unexplainable gives Danny a lot of backing for his claims.Then there is that bald spot under the tree. Ruth Hendl asks,”Is he really capable of spreading some powerful herbicide in a circle just to fool us? It’s hard to accept.”
But Eli Cohen does accept that Danny is capable of such an act. He has told ufologists that he saw him spreading powder of some kind around a purported landing site.
Despite the dilemma of the device’s outer covering,the author remains skeptical of Danny Yaacobi.The most believable incidents involve Tsiporet Carmel,Shosh Yahud,Mara the Russian immigrant and Eli Cohen. Combined, their experiences and the physical evidence left at the landing sites,provide a most persuasive argument that Kadima was the focal point of a UFO invasion,whose purpose,despite Danny Yaacobi’s protestations,are still unknown.
As if the events at Kadima were not powerful enough evidence of UFO visitations,they are backed up by astounding events nearby the moshav.
RETURN OF THE ANGELS: Chapter Two
The possibility that the bible is a long UFO story was first expounded by a likely charlatan named George Adamson in the 1950s who was fortunate enough to have as an advocate, George Hunt Williamson, whose books expounding on Adamson’s theories were well written and are still intriguing to this day.
The downside to Williamson’s works is his acceptance of Adamson’s proofs that he had been visited by Venusians and that most of ancient history’s leading figures were related by reincarnation. Soviet space probes in the 1970s showed Venus to be most unhospitable to life, with average surface temperatures that would melt lead. And the mystical side of Williamson’s work was absurd and totally unproveable.
Nonetheless,Adamson and Williamson broke the ice and others followed in their biblical UFO theory tracks. The most popular was Erich Von Daniken,whose book and film,Chariots Of The Gods spread the gospel worldwide.
Von Daniken was crucified by critics whose main objection was that he began with a conclusion and then worked backwards to prove it. Such a criticism misses the point,since ufology never claimed to be a science,rather a form of reportage. In this field, evidence is gathered and presented to the world jury,and successfully.The majority of Americans have weighed the facts, the testimony of countless witnesses,the historical record and physical evidence to reach the verdict that alien space travelers have visited our planet and continue to so.
For the past few years,Israel has been the site of some of the most convincing visitations in UFO history. The author of this book chose to focus on only those visitations with multiple witnesses or physical evidence. Thus,the claims of several people that they were abducted by aliens has been ignored,despite the intriguing sincerity of the stories.
The author believes that the weight of evidence is favors the probability of recent visitations. He also is convinced that the ancient Israelites were guided by alien angels and Gods.
The Israelites did not believe in one God,rather in many superior beings.
The word for God in Hebrew is Elohim,for Lord,Adonai. Both are pluralized words meaning Gods and Lords. These Gods dwelt in heaven and came to Israel’s aid with armies of angels when threatened.
The Gods left Israel with specific laws covering morality and hygiene. When Israel strayed from these laws,the Gods sent angels to find gifted communicators called prophets to put the people back on the right track.
When they refused to reform themselves,he let their enemies overcome them.
Excepting the early chapters of Genesis,the bible is an accurate historical record. Its devotees insist that every word is true as does the author. Thus when we read,”in those days there were giants in the land,”in fact there were giants and when we are told that a succession of people lived hundreds of years,there is every reason to believe they did.
Naturally,the writers of the bible described fantastic events in terms they were familiar with. Hence, a UFO becomes a whirlwind or pillar of cloud while artillery shells are interpreted as fiery hailstones,etc.
For those who do not read Hebrew,one of the difficulties in understanding the Bible is the archaic language of the classic translations. To eliminate the problem, the author will quote from The Book,(Tyndale House Publishers) which is a rendering of the Bible into day to day English. Thus,a UFO incident told in Genesis 19 reads,”That evening two angels came to the entrance of the city of Sodom…and temporarily blinded the men of Sodom so that they couldn’t find the door…Then the Lord rained down fire and flaming tar from heaven…But Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.”
There is an abundance of UFO references in Genesis such as Jacob’s dream,”that a staircase reached from earth to heaven, and he saw the angels of God going up and down upon it,” but this book will concentrate on the most blatant visitations,beginning with Exodus.
Exodus 3- the Angel of Jehova appeared to him as a flame of fire in a bush…it didn’t burn up.
14-The Lord guided them by a pillar of cloud during the daytime and by a pillar of fire at night,so they could travel either by day or night.The cloud and fire were never out of sight.
Then the Angel of God,who was leading the people of Israel,moved the cloud around behind them and it stood between the people of Israel and the Egyptians. And that night,as it changed to a pillar of fire,it gave darkness to the Egyptians but light to the people of Israel.
But in the early morning Jehova looked down from the cloud of fire upon the array of Egyptians and began to harass them.
19-I brought you to myself as though on eagle’s wings… Then God said to Moses,”I am going to come to you in the form of a dark cloud, so that the people themselves can hear me… On the morning of the third day there was a terrific thunder and lightning storm and a huge cloud came down from the mountain and there was a loud blast as from a ram’s horn…All Mt. Sinai was covered with smoke because Jehova descended upon it in the form of fire;the smoke billowed into the sky as from a furnace and the whole mountain shook.
20-All the people saw the lightning and the smoke billowing from the mountain and heard the thunder and long,frightening blast; and they stood at a distance,shaking with fear.
23-See,I am sending an Angel before you.Reverence him and obey all his instructions… I will send hornets to drive out the Nivtites,Canaanites and Hittites before you.
24-Then Moses,Aaron,Nadab,Abihu and seventy of the elders of Israel went up into the mountain.And they saw the God of Israel;under his feet there seemed to be a pavement of brilliant sapphire stones,as clear as the heavens.
Then Moses went up the mountain and disappeared into the cloud at the top.
And the glory of the Lord rested upon Mt. Sinai and the cloud covered it six days;the seventh day he called to Moses from the cloud. Those at the bottom of the mountain saw the awesome sight;the glory of the Lord on the mountain top looked like a raging fire.
The words speak for themselves. The aliens chose Moses to lead his people out of Israel. They spoke to him from a brushfire that would not extinguish itself,possibly a television screen.After unleashing a series of disasters against the Pharoah and his people,they led the Israelites out of Egypt following their airship.Using some kind of vortex,they opened waters to the Israelites,and restored them to their former state when the Egyptian army gave chase.
The Hebrew term for pillar of fire,Amud Haesh,would be as likely a description of the spaceship as the author(s) of the bible could find.Pillars were the largest manmade objects of the ancient world other than the buildings they held up. Placed on its side, thrown into the air, with combustion fumes enveloping it,the spacecraft would have seemed a pillar of fire,especially at night,when its powerful lights were turned on for the benefit of guidance.When threatened by enemies,God sent his fighter craft,the hornets, to decimate them.
At Mt. Sinai,the ship landed with the sound of thunder,for how many other sounds were the ancients familiar with and hovered over the peak like a cloud.God’s voice emanated from the craft and Moses disappeared into it for a forty day briefing.
He emerged with a very detailed set of plans.
Exodus 25- …make an Ark 3 3/4 feet long,2 1/4 feet wide and 2 1/4 feet high. Overlay it inside and outside with pure gold…When the Ark is finished,place inside it the tablets of stone I will give you.
30- Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and feet…when they approach the altar to burn offerings to the Lord.They must always wash before doing so or they will die.
33-As he entered,the pillar of cloud would come down and stand at the door while the Lord spoke with Moses. Then all the people worshiped from their tent doors,bowing low to the pillar of cloud.
34-Then the Lord descended in the form of a pillar of cloud and stood there with him.
40-Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle and the glory of the Lord filled it.Moses was not able to enter because the cloud was standing there and the glory of the Lord filled the Tabernacle. Whenever the cloud lifted and moved,the people of Israel journeyed onward,following it. But if the cloud stayed,they stayed until it moved. The cloud rested upon the Tabernacle during the daytime and at night there was fire in the cloud so that all the people could see it.
The full instructions in Ark building are not included here,but they are long and detailed. Von Daniken presents a scientific study that rebuilt the Ark and when completed,the structure emitted a strong electrical charge. The tablets within seemed to be a communications device for the Ark would lead the Israelites to their Holy Land and later into battle. It was placed on wooden poles for carrying, a wise contingency for those who touched it were electrocuted.
Instructions for the maintenance of the Tabernacle were given in Exodus and elaborated upon in Leviticus. The stress is on a clean area where meat cooked to high standards of hygiene were presented to the Lord and his crew.
And there is no mistaking one fact; the Lord and his ship physically enter the Tabernacle and consume the meat. Space travelers get hungry too and have no desire to get food poisoning.Leviticus expounds on the diet of aliens and other their demands for hygiene.
Leviticus 1-If an animal used as a burnt offering is a sheep or a goat,it must be a male without any blemishes…for burnt offerings give much pleasure to the Lord.
2-If bread baked in the oven is brought as an offering to the Lord;it must be made from finely ground flour…
5-Anyone touching anything ceremonially unclean-such as the dead body of an animal forbidden for food…is guilty.Or if he touches human discharge of any kind,he becomes guilty as soon as he realizes he has touched it…Only those who are sanctified-the priests- may touch this meat;if any blood sprinkles onto their clothing,it must be washed in a holy place. Then the clay pot in which the clothing is boiled shall be broken or if a bronze kettle is used,it must be scoured and rinsed out thoroughly.
7-…its blood shall be sprinkled back and forth upon the altar… But anything left over until the third day shall not be burned. For if any of it is eaten on the third day,the Lord will not accept it…Anyone who touches anything that is ceremonially unclean,whether it is uncleanness from man or beast,and then eats the peace offering shall be cut off from his people.
Then the Lord said to Moses,”Tell the people of Israel never to eat fat whether from oxen,sheep or goats.
8-Then Moses took the anointing oil and sprinkled it upon the Tabernacle…Next Moses placed the robes on Aaron’s sons,with the belts and caps, as the Lord commanded him.
9-Moses and Aaron went into the Tabernacle,and when they came out again they blessed the people; and the glory of the Lord appeared to the whole assembly. Then fire came from the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and fat on the altar.
10- But Nadab and Abihu,the sons of Aaron placed unholy fire in their censers…So fire blazed forth from the presence of the Lord and destroyed them. Now the Lord instructed Aaron,”Never drink wine or strong drink when you go into the Tabernacle,lest you die…”
11-Anyone carrying the carcass shall wash his clothes and be ceremonially defiled until evening…anything upon which the carcass falls shall be defiled-any article of wood or of clothing,a rug,a sack;anything it touches must be put into water and is defiled until evening… If an animal which you are permitted to eat dies of disease,anyone touching the carcass shall be defiled until evening.
Sounds like the rules of a modern fast food restaurant except for the death penalty. Meat must be fresh and clean. Workers must wear belts and hats,constantly wash robes and must maintain high standards of cleanliness.
Before the shift begins workers must be absolutely sober and are required to anoint themselves with the holy antiseptic oil.To double-check the safety of the meat,blood is sprinkled on the altar for chemical analysis.To keep cholesterol levels down,the Lord bans fat consumption among the Israelites.
Once the food passed muster,the Lord appeared for his dinner and consumed it. The priests were not preparing a sacrifice,rather a hearty dinner fit for the Gods.
God made one point clear,the burnt offerings had to be made where He said so,otherwise he would derive no benefit from them. In Leviticus 17,He says,”I repeat; Anyone…who offers a burnt offering or a sacrifice anywhere other than at the entrance of the Tabernacle…shall be excommunicated.”
Once assuring that He was well fed,God takes care of the hygiene of the Israelites with remarkably inspired advice.
13- But if the white spot in the skin does not seem to be deeper than the skin and the hair in the spot has not turned white, the priest shall quarantine him for seven days…
As long as the disease lasts,he is defiled and must live outside the camp…
If the spot has spread,it is a contagious leprosy and he must burn the clothing,fabric,linen or wool covering or leather article,for it is contagious…
15- Any man who has a genital discharge is ceremonially defiled…Any bed he lies on and anything he sits on is contaminated: so anyone touching the man’s bed…must wash his clothes and bathe himself. 17-For the life of the flesh is in the blood.
18-None of you shall marry a near relative…
And the list of rules carries on, banning homosexuality,bestiality and other practises which must have been rampant at the time. For a people without microscopes,DNA charts or any concept of germs,they were receiving excellent concepts of public and private health precautions.They were taught means to stop the spread of contamination including quarantine and the destruction of diseased clothing.And they received some good practical advice on safe sex.
This is certainly a God with a scientific approach to his followers.
NUMBERS 10-They traveled for three days after leaving Mt. Sinai,with the Ark at the front of the column…It was daytime when they left,with the Cloud moving along ahead of them.
12-Then the Lord descended in the Cloud and stood at the entrance of the Tabernacle…As the Cloud moved from above the Tabernacle,Miriam suddenly became white with leprosy.
13-The land is full of warriors…and we saw some of the Anakim there,descendents of the ancient race of giants.
14-They see the pillar of cloud and fire standing above us and they know you will protect us day and night.
16-Soon a great,sullen mob formed;suddenly,as they looked toward the Tabernacle,the Cloud appeared and the awesome glory of the Lord was seen.
28-The Lord gave Moses these instructions…”The offerings which you burn on the altar for me are my food, and are a pleasure to me;so see to it that they are brought regularly and are offered as I instructed you.”
There is no doubt now that the Tabernacle is UFO headquarters and that the food offered there is consumed with great delight by him and his crew.
Word of the spaceship has spread throughout the area and the inhabitants are worried. And well they should be,for they are the descendants of a rival alien culture,the Anakim nd they know Israel’s mission will be to wipe them out totally.
And this is a task assigned by God to Joshua. He is to show no mercy whatsoever to the inhabitants of Canaan. The land is to be depopulated of its corrupt people,the products of a previous alien experiment,and replaced by a new experiment in human advancement,the Israelites.
CHAPTER THREE: Meetings With The Visitors
Four miles southeast of Kadima is the small moshav of Burgata. If the full story of Burgata was released, Kadima would become a minor episode in recent Israeli UFO history.
But the moshav has put a clamp-down on its citizens.In order to put together the events of the town I had to depend on notes taken by Doron Rotem while people were still willing to talk to outsiders, a videotape of Hanna Samech recorded by Doron and a videotape of a resident named Dorit recorded by a policeman named Yosef Sari, who filmed a short history of the area’s encounters,purportedly for private purposes.
According to the sources available,in 1991 an eleven year old boy of Yemenite origin disappeared for half a day while walking home from school.
When he finally returned to his hysterical parents late at night,he forgot why he was late and had no recollection of his previous hours.
Two weeks later, it all came back. He was abducted by giants and taken into their lair. There he was medically examined and finally a small device was surgically inserted into his left arm near the wrist.
The boy told his parents the story and he was taken to a clinic where a small device was removed from his arm. His parents,at first,were not reluctant to relate this strange tale to neighbors and family. But after a spate of conversations with ufologists and curious friends, the father ordered the family to,thereafter, forget the episode ever occurred.
But the aura of mystery would not abandon the moshav. The story of the interrupted tape is well-known to local investigators. Dorit details the tale on Sari’s videotape.It begins with a middle-aged housewife driving home with her cassette player blaring music.
“Suddenly the music stops and a voice tells her not to worry,they are coming but not to be afraid when they do. Then the voice says it knows Burgata is a troubled place and recites the difficulties of various people.
“The driver didn’t understand what happened to her tape,so she shut it off and turned on her radio. The same voice was now on the radio telling her not to be afraid.
“The woman took out the tape and played it at home for friends. We heard the voice and the calming messages,the litany of town woes and then the tape stopped working altogether and for good.”
These are intriguing yarns and generally believed by the country’s UFO investigators. But without solid evidence,none are willing to report the stories or their feeling that Burgata is of great interest to extraterrestrials.
The story of Hanna Samech is a different matter. Her visitation is backed by physical evidence. Doron Rotem,Avi Grief and others investigated the 4.5 meter circle in her yard and found the red oil collected in Kadima. Avi Grief took photos of the Samech circle and when they were developed,a fluorescent looking triangle ruined the shots. The phenomenon is hard to explain. One sees the usual grasses dessicated and spinning clockwise yet in the midst of them is a bright triangular light,white in the middle,pink at the edge and surrounded by a blue glow. Grief was told this had to be a laboratory error,yet the lab denied it and the other pictures on the roll which were not of the circle came out unaffected.
Doron Rotem considers Hanna’s story totally believable. He is currently making a film about the recent UFO wave and recorded Hanna before the clampdown at the moshav. Now she wants to rerecord the whole thing,with her face covered.
Hanna Samech was visited after the Kadima wave passed. She is a middle-aged woman,perhaps in her late forties,who speaks in the Hebrew dialect known as Yekke, after the German Jews who brought their inflections to Israel two generations ago.
She talks about being woken at 3:AM (the preferred hour of visitations in
Israel) by the furious barking of her white poodle.She got up,walked to the kitchen,arriving just in time to see her dog flying several feet into the air before being smashed into the wall,landing hurt.
She walked outside and saw a being examining her pickup truck. He was over seven feet tall,had very pale skin,a round head,large round eyes and was wearing overalls of some silvery,metallic material. She was apparently too angry about her dog to be afraid,as she relates.
“I asked him,’What did you do to my dog?,” and he answered telepathically,”Go away,I’m busy.” I persisted asking him about the dog and must have made an expression that confused him because he answered,”Wipe that smirk off your face. I could hurt you too but I don’t want to. Just leave and let me work.”
Hanna walked inside and woke her husband. He phoned a friend, informed him there were intruders outside his house and asked him to rush over. The two of them drove throughout the moshav but by that time the visit was over. In the morning,they saw the circle and finally understood what must have happened the night before.
Doron is always amused by this tape.”He talked to her like a low- life greaser,”he notes. “It was a very natural encounter. The dog bothered him so he let him have it. That’s the kind of alien he was. Then Hanna interrupted him and he threatened the same thing but,in the end,didn’t hurt her.It’s a hint that the aliens respect us and have little regard for animals.”
The subject of animals is a source of some debate among Israeli ufologists.
At Kadima,one of Israel’s early UFO investigators,David Kornitz,found a dead rabbit emptied of blood but without any sign of bodily harm. He considered this one of Kadima’s strongest finds but the silicone and oil overshadowed it totally.
The theme of animals reoccurs in what both Rotem and Grief consider Israel’s most enticing encounter. The incident was discovered because of a number of encounters that occurred a hundred miles away in the Galilee region of northern Israel.
From January to May, hundreds of people were eye-witnesses to UFOs that not only flew over cities and towns but also into them.
In January, large UFO hovered over the Sea of Galilee at a height of two kilometers for two hours and was watched by hundreds of the city’s citizens including their police. But this was a minor prelude to the drama which would unfold less two months later later at an Arab village located halfway between Kadima and Haifa called Fardis.
The story is so fantastic that it is best related from a newspaper account that appeared in the country’s biggest daily,Yediot Ahronot;
Citizens of Fardis claim that in the past two weeks a UFO has taken control of their town. The craft looks like a cloud with a plate above it.
Accompanying it are powerful winds which have uprooted trees and blown the roofs off greenhouses. It appears out of nowhere and disappears within seconds.
According to a number of residents,the worst incident occurred two weeks ago and during it,a local fisherman was badly hurt.
Odeh Abu-Abd (25),a gardener says,”I left my house early in the morning and I saw a cloud moving quickly towards the town from the sea. Then it turned sharply and fell to the ground. As it did I heard all kinds of strange sounds.It was like an earthquake. Above the cloud was a huge dish.It suddenly flew at me full speed and I watched my neighbor’s large fruit trees fly in the air. Women and children nearby me rushed into their houses.
Mahmud Abu-Salakh added,”At five in the morning I left with my brother and friend to go fishing. Everything started normal. The weather was calm. When the boat was well offshore we saw a cloud dive at us from the sky. It circled us and we saw above it a huge dish. Quickly, we were in the midst of a windstorm and gigantic waves surrounded us. One wave,twenty four feet high swamped our boat. In my life I’ve never seen a wave that big on the Mediterranean. The wave swept me into the water with such force I felt my back break. My brother and friend pulled me out of the water just in time.
Elders of the town say that never has such a phenomenon been seen in the region.
A journalist from Fardis,Amash Basam,was driving just outside the town when the UFO swooped down toward his car.As he recalls,”The craft just missed me and flew directly in the direction of a barn. It seemed to crash into the barn and the building was smashed as it passed over.”
The residents of the town are Israeli Arabs,largely blue collar and hardly given to seeking national publicity,which is what they received, understandable in light of the heavy damage inflicted on the town.
This is the only known Israeli incident in which a UFO attacked people and property. Hadassah Arbel did not think the damage was deliberate. According to her theory,”The craft was having trouble building the power to switch from matter to anti-matter.”
On May 25, another UFO appeared in Tiberius and this time in full daylight.
The incident began when a young man returned to the town after visiting family in the nearby Golan Heights.It may be worth noting that on the Golan Heights is a 5,000 year old version of Stonehenge. It is a huge complex of circles made of thick rock walls. Its ancient purpose has befuddled Israeli archaeologists since its discovery in 1968,but the possibility of its having been an astronomical observatory is not discounted.
While the young man was travelling along the southern shore of the Sea of Galilee,a UFO dropped from the sky and followed him for almost half an hour.
Terrified,he stopped at a public phone and called the police. He told them,”I’m being followed by a light and it’s not a star. Hurry here.”
A squad car was rushed to the scene and saw a shiny,colorful object flying slowly above the car about a mile overhead. A policeman reported back to headquarters,”It’s moving slowly from north to south. It’s really a UFO.”
The UFO remained in the sky an additional twenty minutes before disappearing over the southern horizon. A policeman interviewed by the media recalled the January sighting,smirked and said,”I guess they like us here.”
As if the police admission that what they investigated was,in fact,a UFO and would be reported as such was not enough proof,a Tiberius man, Baruch Zvulun filmed the UFO on his video camera for a quarter of an hour. The next day his camera ceased operating and could not be repaired but the film of the UFO remained a clear and unarguable piece of evidence that a craft of unknown origin had visited the Galilee.
A mere five days later,the, or an object,was filmed twenty miles to the south by the Nazareth police department.At six in the morning of May 30, a Nazareth policeman relayed the following message from his squadcar to headquarters,”I see a shimmering body about two kilometer in the sky. It’s mostly staying still but occasionally it moves. I swear to you it’s a UFO.”
The message was passed directly to the northern command of the Israeli army and air force. At the crack of dawn,military personnel arrived at the scene and reported an unidentifiable body in the sky above Nazareth. At the same moment, photographers from two sections of the Nazareth police department,filmed the UFO. According to a report in Yediot Ahronot,”The film was was transferred to the army for inspection. The Israel Defence Forces has not yet released its findings.” Nor,as we shall see,will it ever.
By early June,1993,Israel was in the midst of an impressive and confusing UFO wave. In less than three months, UFOs were filmed in Tiberius and Nazareth,they had swooped down on the Arab town of Fardis,they had landed at least four times in Kadima and these were only the most publicized episodes.
The public was getting a bit edgy and it wanted answers.Israeli television host,Manny Peer tried to offer a few on his show in early June.
The guests included Doron Rotem,Avi Grief,Amash Basam,Baruch Zvulun,Shosh Yahud and Tsiporet Carmel. The audience was filled with UFO witnesses,most of whose evidence does not appear in this book,which concentrates only on the most powerful or publicized incidents.
As previously mentioned,the highlight of the program was Peer’s reading of the report by the government’s Geological Survey Institute on the composition of material found at Kadima. This was a rare instance in recent UFO history that a government agency has publicized findings and admitted there was no earthly explanation for them.
At the close of the show Peer requested that other UFO witnesses call the studio to speak with the gathered experts on the subject. Many did,but no story was so affecting as that of a bank teller from Rishon LeTzion, Batya Shimon.
In mid-May,the same race of aliens reported in Kadima and Burgata visited Rishon LeTzion,seventy miles south,on the Mediterranean coast.
3 A.M. is the preferred time of visitation in Israel. The visitors must have calculated the sleep patterns of the people of the planet and learned they were least likely to encounter opposition at that hour.
At three in the morning, Batya Shimon was awoken by strange lights outside her bedroom window. Unlike Tsipora Carmel,Shosh Yahud or Hanna Samech,Batya lives in a crowded neighborhood. Up til now,visitations had been restricted to isolated homes. Now the visitors, chose to see how people live in a city.
What may not be coincidental,is that the visitors chose as a witness another middle-aged housewife. Batya rose from her bed in fright at the sound of powerful banging coming from her living room. She walked into the room and saw twenty beings standing opposite her. She let out a scream but no sound was emitted.
In the morning she awoke to find every door of both closets and rooms opened but nothing was taken.A yellow sand that smelled like,”phosphorous” was spread on the kitchen and bathroom shelves. She then recalled what she had seen the night before. The visitors were over seven feet tall,wore clothing that shone like neon,had round faces,large round eyes,their noses were not pronounced,their mouths were small and circular,their heads were bald but they had black eyebrows.
Her husband had also seen the strange lights in the house but he thought,”he was dreaming that he was in my dream.”
For the third time in two months,the husband slept through a visitation while his wife was permitted to meet the travellers from another solar system. And as usual,the wife was put into a mild trance similar to a dream-state. By doing so,the witnesses believing they were dreaming,did not panic and went back to sleep when the guests departed. Why women were chosen over their husbands must remain a matter for speculation. Perhaps,they are less prone to violent reaction.
The next morning at three o’clock Batya was awoken by a strong light from the kitchen window. She rose and walked to the window. Looking out she saw a large “mushroom-shaped object with a clear door,” approach her from the sky.
A light was directed at her shoulder and it felt like a strong punch.
The next thing she knew she was back in her bed watching a tall visitor wave his hand slowly above her husband’s head. He telepathically told her to calm down and,”I had the feeling he was friendly to me.” Her feeling was reinforced when he told her,”We’re not here to harm you.”
While the visitor was in the bedroom,another was touring the rest of the house,not so much on foot,as floating upright.His legs did not move.His face was covered in a thin haze that obscured the details somewhat but Batya recognized both as the same race of guests that she had seen the previous night. This time,however,she noted more details.She looked at their hands and saw they were human but their skin was as light as an albino’s. Their clothes were also white but they,”shone like neon and were skin-fitting.”
Suddenly,the second visitor appeared opposite her bedroom door,just inside her son’s bedroom. He gestured his comrade to come and have a look at what he had found. The first being floated to the son’s room and both stared transfixed at the boy’s aquarium.
The visit lasted just a couple of minutes,when a beam of light shone through the kitchen window and they disappeared into it.
The next morning all the doors were again opened and the same sand,this time described as smelling like “sulphur” was spread over the shelves.
“What was so convincing,”recalls Grief,”was Batya herself. Like Shosh,she is a Sephardic housewife with no interest in the supernatural. Her main concern in life is her family and getting the bills paid. Then this happens and she doesn’t understand what is happening to her mind. That’s why she called after seeing the Peer show. She finally realized who her strange guests were and that she wasn’t alone.”
Grief thinks that the connection to animals may be part of the reason the beings chose to visit Batya.
“Once they found the fish,they became very excited and immediately after,left. That might have been their mission. Don’t forget about Hanna’s flying dog,Mara’s neighbor’s dog or the fact that Tsiporet raises Great Danes.And then there is the rabbit David Kornitz found that was bled white without any signs of wounds or incisions.Animals play too much of a role in the visitations to be ignored.”
By June,1993,reports of visitations ceased,however UFO sightings were a constant feature of the summer in Israel.The author wishes to offer two people as an example;his wife and friends.
In mid-August,on a hot evening at 9:30, I was driving to my friend Joel Bainerman’s house two minutes away. When I arrived,he rushed to me and said,”You won’t believe it but I just saw a UFO.” I ran to a clearing in his orchard and saw the small red object,no bigger than a large star,high in the sky moving,then stopping,then moving again to the north.
What Joel had seen was a red ball, not half a mile distant and no more than a few hundreds meters above the ground that made a loud humming noise,streak across the sky,stop cold,then seemingly disappear.
Joel is a skeptic but my British wife doesn’t believe in anything that isn’t reported by the BBC and confirmed by the Queen. The next morning I told her Joel had seen a UFO.She asked if it was glowing red,stopped in the sky and disappeared. She had seen the same thing from our yard a minute after I had left.That day the papers reported that dozens of people had phoned the police in the central part of the country to report a mysterious red ball of light that flew low in the sky the night before.
A little later on, my friend,Mitchell Herczeg,an Orthodox rabbi who thinks my interest in UFOs borders blasphemy, called me to report a slow moving,orange object that he had seen flying just outside Jerusalem.
“It wasn’t a plane or flares, “he insisted.”It hovered,then moved and turned on its axis.”
This is a small sample group to illustrate a point that should be obvious by now; so many UFOs are flying over Israel currently that everyone knows at least one recent witness.
But that doesn’t mean the preceding years were empty of incidents.Israel’s wave of UFOs began in 1987 with a legendary encounter in Haifa and continued with a series of convincing, befuddling and spectacular encounters that prove the country is of great interest to civilizations beyond our solar system.
Chapter Four: David and the Visitors
Moses is now dead and it is Joshua‘s task to conquer Canaan. It seems like a most hopeless mission. The country is dotted with strongly fortified towns and the people,experienced warriors all, greatly outnumber the Israelites.
But they hadn’t counted on the God of Israel and his new-fangled weaponry.
Joshua 3-…stay about a mile behind,with a clear space between you and the Ark;be sure you don’t get any closer…The Ark of God,who is Lord of the whole Earth,will lead you across the river…When the priests who are carrying the Ark touch the water with their feet,the river will stop flowing…and will pile up as though against an invisible wall.
4-and the twelve stones from the Jordan were piled up as a monument.
5-The Lord then told Joshua to set aside a day to circumcise the entire male population of Israel.
6-Your entire army is to walk around the city once a day for six days,followed by seven priests walking ahead of the Ark,each carrying a trumpet…On the seventh day you are to walk around the city with the priests blowing their trumpets.Then when they give one,long blast,all the people are to give a mighty shout and the walls of the city will fall down… But all the silver and gold and the utensils of bronze and iron will be dedicated to the Lord,and must be brought into his treasury.
7-God’s command to destroy everything except that which was reserved for the Lord’s treasury was disobeyed…So (Israel) was defeated.
10-As the enemy was racing down the hill To Beth-Horon,the Lord destroyed them with great hailstones…As the men of Israel were pursuing and harassing the foe… the sun and the moon didn’t move until Israel had finished destruction of its enemies…the sun stopped in the heavens and stayed there almost twenty-four hours.
11-During this period Joshua routed all of the giants-the descendants of Anak.None was left in the land of Israel…
The Ark is essential to the success of Joshua’s army. It leads the soldiers into battle and when carried around Jericho for a week,creates a force field which destroys the city’s fortifications by the amplification of trumpet blasts. When the Ark’s powers are irrelevant to an open battle situation,God helps with artillery power.
God has taken a lot of trouble to form a unique people to obey his commands.
He instructs them to build monuments where his miracles took place to form nation-building legends and to keep his memory alive.He has the men circumcized for health reasons,including the reduction of cervical cancer and to set them apart.
In return He asks for obedience and all the metal captured in battle,which undoubtedly was of value to Him. Perhaps the aliens needed the metal for shipbuilding or maybe,they valued gold and silver for the same reasons as earth inhabitants,beauty and rarity.
When He was disobeyed and an Israelite withheld His booty,He withheld his invaluable help in battle.This is possibly,the most recurring theme in the scriptures. Without total obedience to God’s commands,Israel is foresaken and left to suffer at the hands of her enemies.
Judges 2-One day the Angel of the Lord arrived…and announced to the people of Israel,”…And now since you have broken the contract…I no longer promise to destroy the nations living in your land…So when the nation of Israel went out to battle against its enemies,the Lord blocked their path.
13- Then one day the Angel of the Lord appeared to the wife of Manoah…and said to her,”Even though you have been barren so long,you will soon conceive and have a son.Don’t drink any wine or beer and don’t eat any food that isn’t kosher.
Then Manoah took a young goat and a grain offering and offered it as a sacrifice to the Lord;And the Angel did a strange and wonderful thing,for as the flames from the altar were leaping up toward the sky,and as Manoah and his wife watched,the Angel ascended in the fire.
The artificial insemination of Israelites occurs throughout the testaments.
The octogenarian Sarah produced Isaac from alien seed as did Mary,Jesus.
Mark 1-“Joseph,son of David,”the angel said,”don’t hesitate to take Mary as your wife! For the child within her has been conceived by the Holy Spirit.”
To prevent miscarriage,the Angel offers sensible advice; eat good food and don’t drink alcohol. Once his mission had been completed and he had a healthy meal for the flight,the Angel climbed into his craft and took off.Indeed a strange and wonderful thing, as was the conception itself which produced Samson,who like Joshua,would later fell an impregnable structure with the Lord’s help.
Samuel 3-Messages from the Lord were very rare in those days.but one night…Samuel was sleeping in the Temple near the Ark and the Lord called out,”Samuel,Samuel.” … “Let’s bring the Ark here from Shilo,”…So they sent for the Ark of the Lord of heaven who is enthroned above the angels.
5-The Philistines took the captured Ark of God…to the temple of their idol Dagan…but the next morning the same thing happened -the idol had fallen before the Ark of the Lord again…Then the Lord began to destroy the people of Ashdod and nearby villages with bubonic plague.
7-Just as Samuel was sacrificing a burnt offering,the Philistines arrived for battle,but the Lord spoke with a might voice of thunder from heaven…and the Israelis routed them.
21-Later during a war with the Philistines at Gob,Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Saph,another giant…And once when the Philistines and the Israelis were fighting at Gath, a giant with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot, defied Israel and David’s nephew Jonathan…killed him. These four were from the tribe of giants in Gath…
22-Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of the heavens quaked Because of his wrath. Smoke poured from his nostrils; Fire leaped from his mouth And burned up all before him, Setting fire to the world. He bent the heavens down and came to earth; He walked upon dark clouds. He rode upon the
glorious- On the wings of the wind.Darkness surrounded him, And clouds were thick around him; The earth was radiant with his brightness. The Lord thundered from heaven; The God above all gods gave out a mighty shout. He shot forth his arrows of lightning And routed his enemy.
The lesson here is that anyone who absconds with the holy Ark will be rewarded with biological warfare. The Philistines,who numbered amongst their warriors the descendents of the giants,made the mistake of capturing the Ark and paid for it in their cities and on the battlefield.
The author of the poem quoted last was David,another prophet who had recently had an encounter with an alien.(Samuel 24-When David saw the angel,he said to the Lord…)He offers a superb description of the Lord’s spacecraft with fire spitting from its mouth,flying down from heaven to cloud level and illuminating the darkness. The craft’s battlefield methods are also meticulously recorded. The Lord’s armies seemed to have used conventional weapons that made a booming noise before shooting either shells or concentrated particles of light.
The same remarkable description continues in the story of Elijah but with a far more dramatic conclusion.
2 Kings 1-But Elijah replied,”If I am a man of God,let fire come down from the heaven and destroy you and your fifty men.”Then lightning struck them and killed them…And again the fire from God burned them up. 2- Now the time came for the Lord to take Elijah to heaven-by means of a whirlwind…Then Elijah folded his cloak together and struck the water with it; and the river divided…As they were walking along talking,suddenly a chariot of fire,drawn by horses of fire appeared…and Elijah was carried by a whirlwind into heaven.
Could anything be clearer? To reiterate,the ancient Hebrews saw a vehicle spinning and no other word in their vocabulary than sufa or whirlwind came close to describing what they had witnessed.
Before Elijah was taken to his final and unknown destination in the heavens,he bequeathed his mission to Elisha under the watchful eyes of the extraterrestrial visitors.(2 Kings 6-Then Elisha prayed…and the Lord opened the young man’s eyes so that he could see the horses of fire and chariots of fire upon the mountain.)
It’s impossible to guess how many Israelites where chosen by the aliens to convey their messages for the poor communicators were undoutedly lost to history. Up to this point in the scriptures,God’s prophets would be lost without ample displays of technological power before a skeptical people.
Moses was,,self-admittedly, a very poor speaker and not terribly charismatic. He was,however, a highly intelligent clerk who absorbed instructions and successfuly conveyed them.Joshua won his following because of his success as a general.Samuel,Elijah and Elisha were powerful and persuasive figures in their day but their deeds lack the complete depth of more profound encounters called inspiration.
What the visitors needed to immortalise their mission was a writing genius,someone who could move the people to devotion with his passion. That person turned out to be David.
CHAPTER FIVE- Israel Awakens To The Invasion
During the spring of 1980,I was a soldier in the anti-aircraft brigade of the Israeli Air Force.My duty was to operate two types of anti-aircraft missile. My unit was on training manoevres in the bleak Sinai Desert and private Adam Reuter was on skywatch.While staring into the western skies with his binoculars,he called me over,saying,”I think I’m looking at a UFO.”
He handed me the glasses and I saw a large,well lit, silvery object. Circling it were red objects that occasionally flew into the silver one,seemingly melding with it. One by one members of the unit were called to observe the sight until most had stopped digging their foxholes. Our officers intervened and everyone went back to their mundane military exercise.Everyone but Adam and I,who were severely reprimanded for slagging work. Nonetheless,we could not take our eyes off the sky.
Over the next three months, strange lights passed over our base.We had been trained to identify jets and helicopters of all kinds and how not to confuse them with satellites. What we were seeing was nothing like anything taught in our skywatching classes. These were highflying,soundless dots in the upper atmosphere that flew in squadrons,stopped in the middle of their flight,joined together then split off in different directions and turned at impossible angles.They were best described as manually controlled satellites. Since such a fleet of vehicles did not exist,we had no explanation for what we were seeing.
As the summer wore on,Adam and I were the sole advocates of the UFO theory and I especially was subjected to mockery. The most common theory among the unit was that a new weapons system was being tested but over time, that explanation did not suit even the most hardened critics.
One morning at assembly,the unit asked our officers to request an explanation from the Air Force. A few days after the request was submitted,a colonel from the Meteorological Division addressed us. His message was simple,” We don’t know what you are seeing but we request that you do not tell outsiders since that only spreads rumors.”
So the arguments over the lights continued and as strongest advocate of the extraterrestrial visitation hypothesis,I was ribbed ruthlessly. This would not happen today. Back in 1980,very few Israelis had seen UFOs.
The only major sightings were in Haifa in the early Fifties.Since then,Israel was mostly ignored by outworldly civilizations.
Despite the irritating kidding I was receiving,I began a little investigation. I was serving at a large air force base and pilots would occasionally lecture us on tactics for aiming and shooting our missiles.
Once the lecture ended,I approached the pilots and asked them if they had ever chased UFOs.
Because I was a fellow soldier,the pilots let down their guard. Two admitted that they had chased ships of unexplainable origin. One was glowing blue and the pilot chased it over Haifa until it tired of the pursuit and sped off over the Mediterranean at a speed the pilot’s state-of-the-art Phantom could never hope to achieve. The other chase was over Jerusalem. The object was twice as large as a Phantom,red and, “disappeared before my eyes.”
I am told that I was privileged to squeeze any information out of Israeli Air Force pilots. The person who told me so was Julie,a reporter for the official air force magazine,distributed to personnel throughout the country’s air bases. We crossed paths in January,1994.
She was doing a story about the UFO wave for the magazine and we were interviewing the same people. She told me outright that there is a special unit within the air force investigating UFO incidents but as far as anyone was concerned,it was non-existent. The air force would not help one of its own journalists get near the unit or its files. And pilots were ordered not to answer her questions.
There is,however, a former air force radar operator,who lives near Kadima and was briefly referred to before, who has been telling ufologists a few interesting things. For instance he told me,”The operators often get strange blips on their screens such as objects flying at impossible speeds which shouldn’t be there or objects making gravity-defying turns. These are reported and planes scrambled to chase them. I was personally responsible for two reports that led to chases. I saw the pictures the pilots took. They were of cigar shaped craft.
The air force feels these craft are intruders and a security risk so will not publicize incidents,partly to avoid panic and in part,because there is no answer to them if they turn hostile.”
Because the air force had effectively covered up UFO encounters and because there were so few sightings,until the late 1980s,almost all Israelis viewed UFOs as pure science fiction.
Then in 1988,two UFO incidents were well-filmed and documentary evidence was presented to the public.
On the 26th of February,1988,Rosetta Kalphon was having a gathering at her apartment in Haifa on Israel’s northern Mediterranean coast. Including among her fifteen guests was a professional photographer from Ashdod who had brought his video-camera with him.
As the evening drew to a close,all sixteen people stood on Rosetta’s balcony and watched a spectacular UFO,while for seventeen minutes,it was filmed professionally. Shortly after,journalists were invited to Rosetta’s apartment to view the film.
Though I missed the occasion,I saw a frame of the film that was reproduced in a local paper called Kol Bo.The shot is outstanding,far clearer than Doron Rotem’s blowup of Eli Cohen‘s videotape. The UFO is somewhat umbrella-shaped and on the side shown in the shot were eight smallish orange lights and in the middle of them,an orange light twice their size.
I found the picture in Avi Grief’s files while interviewing him in Haifa and hoped to see the original film while I was in the city. I managed to get Rosetta on the phone in the early evening. I told her I was writing a book on Israeli UFO experiences and her voice became very animated.
“It happened again,”she said.”Two weeks ago,my apartment was filled with light and I went on the balcony. Opposite me in the same place as in 1988 was a silver UFO as big as a house. I thought I was going crazy. What do they want with me already?”
On the 26th of June,1988,the Israeli papers carried the account of Yossi Ayalon. Two nights before, at 1:30 AM,he stood on his balcony in Herzlia,ten miles north of Tel Aviv and saw a point of light appear on the horizon out of nowhere.
“I called my wife out but the light had disappeared by then. Suddenly it reappeared as big and bright as the sun at dawn.I knew I was seeing something I’d never witnessed before so I ran inside for my video camera and started filming.”
Yossi did not call the police but rather,sent the film to Israel Television for public scrutiny.He,however, refused to appear on television,explaining,”I never believed in UFO stories and I don’t want to become a joke. But I just can’t ignore what I filmed and saw.”
Nor could many viewers. Yossi’s UFO is clearly round and like many of the Israeli UFOs,emits a bright orange light.The roundness is broken by a dark colored square from the rim to the middle,taking up about 20% of the ship’s size.
Thus,in 1988, two UFOs were videotaped in Israel and this evidence is important to me. The purpose of this work is to prove that UFOs and aliens visited Israel in its ancient past and returned again in 1987. Only by gathering the strongest physical evidence of the present,could the more difficult biblical thesis be made plausible.
Although there are a number of UFO contactees in Israel,I vowed not to include their stories unless they were backed with physical evidence or corroborated by disinterested witnesses. Thus,with great dismay,I sat down to interview a UFO witness in Ramat Gan, a suburb of Tel Aviv,only to discover that he was a follower of an Indian mystic and made contact by putting himself in a trance. I politely turned down the offer of a sitting to meet the aliens via his mind.
Doron Rotem directed me to someone with,”quite a story.” On the phone he told me he would not grant an interview until he had received permission from “them.” As fascinating as his experience must be,I decided it would be out of context with the direction of reporting.I chose to concentrate on the physical to the almost complete neglect of the metaphysical. One of the most remarkable of the physical stories involved a chase right out of the movies.
Just before 3:AM on the morning of December 6,1991,Yossi Ben Maos was driving in a taxi outside the city of Bet Shean,in the Jezreel Valley approximately halfway between Haifa and Tiberius.It was then that he noticed a strange vehicle emitting,”a pleasing light,” was pacing the taxi 150 meters opposite it.
Yossi thought the craft must be some sort of glider carrying terrorists from Jordan,ten miles distant,to an attack. He and the driver decided to follow the glider to its destination and then call for the police. The craft stopped and hovered above the industrial zone of Bet Shean and there Yossi found a phone to make his report.
A squad car quickly arrived,the policeman took a look at the large object dangling in the air and immediately called his superior,Chief Inspector Yitzhak Mordechai at home,woke him up and implored him to rush over.
Mordechai told the policeman he was on his way and ordered him to call the army,air force,border guards and to alert the local kibbutzim.
By the time Mordechai arrived,the industrial zone was filled with armed men.
The UFO began moving slowly toward the Jordanian border trailing a convoy of jeeps and police cars beneath it.The craft reached the border and turned back toward Israel.
After a half an hour of this eerie chase,the UFO settled in one spot,150 meters in the air above Kibbutz Maoz Chaim. Beneath it,were about a hundred armed men, many of whom thought it was a terrorist invader though most understood by then,that this was no earthly object.
At about 5:00 AM someone gave the order to shoot.The shots were heard throughout the area and could not be covered up. The next day the police blamed the army for shooting at the craft while army personnel accused the police of ordering the attack.The craft was not damaged by the fire and just at sunrise,an hour later,it rose into the sky and disappeared. Thus,Ben Yossi Ben Maos and the unnamed cabbie,witnessed the UFO for over three hours,while dozens of cops,soldiers and kibbutzniks stood under it for almost two and a half hours.
Doron Rotem interviewed a reserve soldier who as at the scene and his account is more expansive. According to soldier,it wasn’t just a few bullets that were shot but long rounds of small arms fire and shoulder-harnassed anti-aircraft missiles.
Yoram Torbatian says,”A lot of information about the Bet Shean attack is being covered up. The morning after the encounter Mordechai was telling the media what happened,truthfully. Later in the day,he was told to watch himself. After that he wouldn’t talk to anyone and won’t to this day.”
If Chief Inspector was open,it was for the public good. The UFO was witnessed by hundreds of Israelis and dozens had called radio stations demanding to know if a war had started,if there was a terrorist attack or just why they saw what they saw. Mordechai gave a now famous radio interview,assuring the public that he had chased a UFO.”It wasn’t a plane,it wasn’t a helicopter or a meteor.It was a UFO.”It is not known if his blunt report actually comforted the public but it certainly was blatant official confirmation of UFOs over Israel.
Reading Mordecchai’s press quotes of that day is illuminating.In the morning,he told reporters,”After Yossi Ben Maos called the police,a squad car arrived and the policemen identified a mysterious glowing object moving eastward. At this point I had a car sent to me and began chasing the object until it stopped above Kibbutz Maoz Chaim.We stayed with it until almost six o’clock. When the run rose,it left.
“The object was glowing and bright,it flew 200 metres above the ground and stood out clearly in the background of stars.It tipped from side to side until it balanced itself and then stayed in the same position,circling on its axis from left to right until it became steady.Then it stopped and hung in the sky. I don’t believe it had hostile intents.
“The craft seemed very curious about us.To tell the truth,I don’t know what is was but I saw what I saw and not for an instant but for two and a half long hours.”
The official description of the night’s events were reported in the Bet Shean police reports as,”A UFO incident.”
Later in the day,Mordechai sat for an interview with Gabi Nitzan,a reporter for the daily,Chadashot. Already he was under scrutiny as Nitzan reports:
During the interview,Mordechai, under strict supervision from the spokeswoman of Israel Police’s central headquarters,who,’just happened to be with us,completely by accident,’tried to obscure the incident…Before the spokeswoman could warn him about correct talk,Mordechai admitted being deeply affected by the event.
Keeping in mind that Mordechai was under close scrutiny,his testimony is all the more important.
“A lot of policemen arrived,squad cars,patrol cars,security people from the kibbutzim,border guards,and army jeeps…It was a powerful experience,the first time I’ve had to deal with anything like it.And make no mistake about it, a shot of men shared my experience.There’s no doubt about what happened.”
Nitzan got down to the question of who shot at the UFO,probably the main reason why the police spokeswoman was in the room. Mordechai gives no answer so Nitzan asks,”Maybe it was the UFO that shot?” Mordechai answers as if there is no sarcasm in the question,”It never moved. Most of the time it just hung in the air above Kibbutz Maoz Chaim.”
Spokeswoman or not,the police chief inspector of Bet Shean describes a large military operation and the use of armed force against the UFO.
Israel’s weapons seem to have had no effect on the UFOs whatsoever. Barely a month later on Jan.14,1992 a couple from the southern city of Beersheva,Liza and Babar Alon, released a videotape of a UFO they had filmed two weeks earlier. The film clearly shows a glowing disc,dark in the middle,with a light circle following the rim,hanging above the skies of the Negev Desert.What distinguished the film was its length.The couple had managed to film the craft for a full forty-five minutes.
At 10:PM on January 24,1992,Israel was treated to the greatest UFO display of all. Israeli ufologists call this UFO,”the mother ship.” It traversed the country for two hours,beginning in the Haifa region,making appearances all along the densely populated coast,flying over Beersheva and the Negev before disappearing over Jordan. Thousands of people witnessed the ship.What choice did they have? Reports put its length at that of two jumbo jets. Circling it were smaller craft that occasionally joined it,then were ejected into different flight patterns.
The best way to approach this incident is to quote some of the many reports printed in Israel’s newspapers.
Ephi Sarid,photographer for Yediot Ahronot who spotted the craft outside the Galilee city of Sfat;”I saw a huge light and circling it were smaller lights.The length of the object wasn’t clear but I estimated its width at 30 meters. It moved at high speed about 2 kilometers up. It was noiseless and lit up the whole sky.”
Liran Shor,16,from Haifa;”It flew low above the houses.It made no noise and that caught my attention. It was ellipsoid-shaped and huge,the length of two jumbo jets. The light was like burning embers and it left an orange trail behind it. It lit up the whole street.”
David Butrashvili,32,highschool physics and astronomy teacher;”It was ellipsoid-shaped,the length of two jumbo jets and travelled between 50 and 80 kilometers an hour.”
Aran Mishelli,13,Haifa;”It left a red,glowing trail behind it inside of which there were two rockets spitting fire. Afterward,the big body split into three parts,two small,one big. They were white and left a red trail.”
Pini Shechter,17,Tiberius;”A small white ball flew ahead of the big ship and was connected to it by a white strip of light.The big ship left a fiery trail. The craft was about 35 meters in length and nine in height.Its color was white or red.”
Tal Moran,27,Haifa;”It was a huge ball of fiery light. Circling it were smaller balls and it left a trail of light. It was as big as several buildings and its predominant colors were red and white.”
Rina Green,42,Karmiel,” The craft was enormous. It flew at an altitude of a kilometer to a kilometer and a half and passed right over us.It’s length was 200 meters and left a gigantic,fiery trail behind it.”
Danny Kushner,17,Rishon LeTzion;”I saw five lighted bodies flying in an arrow formation.Each left a white trail behind it.”
Tel Aviv police patrolman;”I saw a huge,lit object falling from the skies over Tel Aviv.It split into three parts and disappeared.”
Reserve soldier,stationed in the Negev Desert;” I saw seven huge red balls leaving trails behind them. They flew in formation with one leading them.The white vapor trails lit up the whole desert.”
Menachem Shizef,Kiryat Shmoneh (Galilee region);” I saw a huge object made up of shiny points of light. It seemed like an enormous submarine constructed of sparkling lights.”
The testimony,while often contradictory,agrees on a number of points. The UFO was enormous and left a bright trail behind it.Israeli ufologists call it the mother ship because of the reports of smaller craft circling,joining,separating from or following it.
The ship took its time investigating Israel.It was reported as ten to twenty times larger than any other previous Israeli sighting. Yet the Israeli Air Force reported that it had not appeared on any of its radar screens.
However,the same military minds could not deny the observations of thousands of people.
UFOs had been inspecting Israel for the past three years and now the mother of all UFOs made her appearance without shame. What was the mission and was there a message? A Haifa auto mechanic,Amiel Achrai,thinks there is both.
CHAPTER SIX: Ancient Middle Eastern UFO Tales
The tenth century BCE produced some classic UFO stories. There was the well-known case of the luckless Uzza,who with the best of intentions,touched the holy Ark and was electrocuted.
Lord blazed out against Uzza and killed him because he had touched the Ark.
It must be recalled that God gave specific instructions that the Ark be carried on wooden poles to prevent just such an occurance. Perhaps he should have ordered Moses to place a sign on the Ark reading,Danger High Voltage.
Then there is the sad but ultimately triumphant story of Job who spoke to God and who was answered “from the whirlwind.” But God was not kind to Job;
While the messenger was still speaking another arrived with bad news:”The fire of God has fallen from heaven and burned up your sheep…”
But no proof of the existence of tenth century BCE UFOs is more detailed than the psalms written primarily by David,who,as was noted in Judges,was in personal contact with the extraterrestrial Angels.In his moving poems,he recounts his encounters and provides among the most detailed reports of the aliens’ methods and means.
Psalms 18-Fierce flames leaped from his mouth,setting fire to the earth;smoke blew from his nostrils.He bent the heavens down and came to my defense;thick darkness was beneath his feet. Mounted on a mighty angel,he sped quickly to my aid with wings of wind.
He enshrouded himself with darkness,veiling his approach with dense clouds dark as murky waters. Suddenly the brilliance of his presence broke through the clouds with lightning and a mighty storm of hail.
The Lord thundered in the heavens;the God above all gods has spoken- oh,the hailstones;oh, the fire.He flashed his fearful arrows of lightning and routed all my enemies.
29- The voice of the Lord spins and topples the mighty oaks.It strips the forests bare. They whirl and sway beneath the blast.
50-God’s glory-light shines from the beautiful Temple on Mount Zion,surrounded by devastating fire;a great storm rages about him.
A recurring testimony throughout the holy writ is of God actually lighting up the interior of his Temple. The Temple was likely the landing base and headquarters of the aliens,the priests were the ground crew taking care of maintenance while the loyal Israelites provided supplies.
A further example of the presence of the aliens in their chosen Temple occurs in 2 Chronicles 7;”As Solomon finished praying,fire flashed down from heaven and burned up the sacrifices! And the glory of the Lord filled the Temple,so the priests couldn’t enter.”
77-There was thunder in the whirlwind;the lightning lighted up the world.
The earth trembled and shook.
80-Turn us again to yourself,O God of the armies of heaven.
97- Fire goes before him and burns up all his foes. His lightning flashes out across the world…The mountains melt like wax before the Lord of all the earth.
104- The clouds are his chariots. He rides upon the wings of the wind.The the angels are his messengers-his servants of fire.
The God David describes is a flying military machine,which protected Israel from its enemies with advanced laser weaponry capable of melting rock.
During the reigns of David and Solomon,the gods were clearly pleased with the way things were going in Israel. When they appear,it is to protect an obedient people and Israel is rewarded with wealth,prestige and expanding borders.
But success brought decadence and the people strayed from the dicta of the gods. There is a very real change in the relationship between the aliens and Israel. The gods appoint prophet after prophet to get Israel back on the track of morality and civilization but without enough success. The gods take devastating measures to punish the Israelites,including expulsion, in the hope of whipping the Jews into shape.
The prophets lived in less remote times than Moses and Aaron and only a few hundred years from the time that oral history was transcribed for posterity.
Thus some of their encounters are the best remembered and most vivid testimony in the bible.
Isaiah 6-The year King Uzziah died I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the Temple was filled with his glory. Hovering above him were mighty,six-winged angels of fire. With two of their wings they covered their faces;with two others they covered their feet and with two they flew.
37- That night the Angel of the Lord went out to the camp of the Assyrians and killed 185,000 soldiers.
40-It is God who sits above the circle of the earth.The people below must seem to him like grasshoppers.
49-“And now,” said the Lord-The Lord who formed me from my mother’s womb to serve him,…”I will make you a Light to the nations of the world to bring my salvation to them too.”
60-And who are these who fly like a cloud to Israel?…I have reserved the ships of many lands,the very best,to bring the sons of Israel home again…
64- Oh,that you would burst forth from the skies and come down!
66-For see,the Lord will come with fire and with swift chariots of doom.
One can only try to visualise the Angel Isaiah met. Unlike,the usual conception,his angel has not two wings to fly but six altogether. Four serve no purpose than to cover His face and feet. Perhaps, Isaiah was seeing peculiar gloves and a helmet and had no other means to describe them but as wings.
There can be no mistaking other observations. Supposedly,the ancients thought the earth was flat and maps preserved from biblical times reinforce that view. But Isaiah talks about the planet as a circle. And he accurately depicts a view from a flying craft where men seem as small as grasshoppers.This is an uncanny description of what millions of people today have seen from an airplane window.
When Israel repents,her people will not walk home,but will be flown back in the best ships from many lands. This is a wonderful statement that the aliens were conducting other experiments throughout the world.
But the Israelite experiment is uniquely important. Isaiah is told he was implanted in his mother’s womb to spread the knowledge imparted to his people to the entire planet. This is one of the most important statements made by God and it reveals why so much attention is devoted to the Jews. It is the ultimate goal of the visiting scientists to scatter the Israelites worldwide in the hope that their inspiration will put an end to barbarism and spread the superior knowledge of an advanced civilization which acted as their tutors.
Jeremiah 1-The Lord said to me,”I knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb;before you were born I sanctified you and appointed you as my spokesman to the world.”…Then he touched my mouth and said,”See,I have put my words in your mouth. Today your work begins, to warn the nations and the kingdoms of the world…”
2- For when I planted you,I chose my seed so carefully-the very best.Why have you become this degenerate race of evil men?
4- At that time he will send a burning wind from the desert upon them- not in little gusts but in a roaring blast…his chariots are like a whirlwind…
51- He stretched out the heaven by his understanding.When he speaks there is thunder in the heavens and he causes vapors to rise around the world.
Lamentations 1- A cloud of anger from the Lord has overcast Jerusalem;the fairest city of Israel lies in the dust of the earth,cast from the heights of heaven at his command.
The Lord tells Jeremiah outright that the people of Israel were created of his seed and that Jeremiah was genetically altered to be a prophet. These are direct statements that require little interpretation.
Jeremiah also gives a clearer picture of the weaponry employed by the aliens; they cause powerful blasts followed by a broiling gust of wind. Dust and vapors rise from the blast area so thickly that they cover the city like a cloud. Not a bad descrption of nuclear warfare!
As powerful a ufological history as Jeremiah provides,he is totally upstaged by the next prophet the bible presents,Ezekiel.
Ufologists everywhere have reached a consensus that the best proof of biblical visitations from space is the powerful words of Ezekiel 1,printed in full below;
One day late in June,when I was thirty years old,the heavens were suddenly opened to me and I saw visions from God. I saw,in this vision,a great storm coming toward me from the north,driving before it a huge cloud glowing with fire,with a mass of fire inside that flashed continually;and in the fire there was something that shone like polished brass.
Then from the center of the cloud,four strange forms appeared that looked like men,except that each had four faces and two pairs of wings. Their legs were like those of men,but their feet were cloven like calves’ feet, and shone like burnished brass.And beneath each of their wings I could see human hands.
The four living beings were joined wing to wing,and they flew staight forward without turning. Each had the face of a man in front with a lion’s face on the right side of his head, and the face of an ox on the left side and the face of an eagle at the back! Each had two pairs of wings spreading out from the middle of the back. One pair stretched out to attach the wings of the living beings on each side, and the other pair covered his body.
Wherever their spirit went they went,going straight forward without turning.
Going up and down among them were other forms that glowed like bright coals of fire or brilliant torches,and it was from these the lightning flashed.The living beings darted to and fro,swift as lightning.
As I stared at all of this, I saw four wheels on the ground,beneath them,one wheel belonging to each. The wheels looked as if they were made of polished amber and each wheel was constructed with a second wheel crosswise inside.
They could go in any of the four directions without having to face around.The four wheels had rims and spokes and the rims were filled with eyes around their edges.
When the four living beings flew forward,the wheels moved forward with them.
When they flew upwards,the wheels went up too.When the living beings stopped,the wheels stopped. For the spirit of the four living beings was in the wheels; so wherever their spirit went,the wheels and the living beings went there too.
The sky spreading out above them looked as though it were made of crystal,it was inexpressibly beautiful.
The wings of each stretched straight out to touch the others’ wings,and each had two wings covering his body. And as they flew,their wings roared like waves against the shore,or like the voice of God,or like the shouting of a might army. When they stopped they let down their wings.And every time they stopped,there came a voice from the crystal sky above them.
For high in the sky above them was what looked like a throne made of beautiful blue sapphire stones, and upon it sat someone who appeared to be a Man.
From his waist up,he seemed to be all glowing bronze,dazzling like fire,and from his waist down he seemed to be entirely flame,and there was a glowing halo like a rainbow all around him. That was the way the glory of the Lord appeared to me.And when I saw it,I fell face downward on the ground, and heard the voice of someone speaking to me.
Although there is agreement that Ezekiel saw something fantastic,there is disagreement about what it was.Von Daniken has concluded that the prophet saw an amphibious helicopter. Williamson has concluded that he saw four separate craft with four different pilots.A rendering for Isaac Asimov shows not four saucer-shaped vehicles,rather four extraterrestrials sitting in clear bubbles.
The main problems are Ezekiel’s,”four living beings” and all the wings attached to them. To sort out Ezekiel’s vision it is best to begin with points of agreement:
The “fire inside that flashed continuously” is a pulsating light.
The “forms that glowed like bright coals of fire or brilliant torches and it was from these that lightning flashed,”are exhaust pipes.
“four wheels had rims…filled with eyes around their edges,” are portholes or lights.
“a glowing halo like a rainbow,” is a helmet. Helmets described as halos are standard in depictions of Angels throughout bible.
Williamson’s interpretation of the four living beings,being the space ships makes more sense than Von Daniken’s one craft theory, although the latter has the advantage in the fact that intially Ezekiel reported only one fiery cloud.
However,repeatedly the “spirit” goes where the craft flies,meaning the aliens controlled the flight. There is a problem here as well; Ezekiel mentions only one spirit which could lead to the conclusion that four aliens controlled one machine.
Another problem is the wings; Von Daniken concludes that this was a one winged craft while Williamson tries to finesse the difficulty by claiming Ezekiel added the wings himself so the people of the time would accept a flying vision. He stretches the argument by stating that,since no one could visualize strange flying forms looking like men without wings,it was simplier easier to add them to his description. Such an approach creates a tricky dilemma for those who insist that Ezekiel and all the biblical witnesses accurately recorded what they saw without embellishment.
The bible chosen by the author adds another difficulty,it replaces the commonly used “firmament” with “sky”,so we have the craft(s) flying through a crystal sky. In fact, Ezekiel was describing the dome of the craft(s) not the sky.
What impressed Ezekiel was that the craft(s) turned on its axis without slowing down,stopping or in anyway obeying the laws of gravity as he instinctively knew them. This is definitely a universally observed characteristic of UFOs. As for the faces of the lion,eagle etc.they could have been insignia to identify each craft.
What other UFO writers have failed to recognize is the possibility,even likelihood that a fifth craft was in this squadron,”For high in the sky above them was what looked like a throne made of beautiful sapphire stones and upon it sat someone who appeared to be a man.”
Ezekiel is accurate enough to qualify his description with words like,”appeared,” “like those of men,” and “looked like.”His God either hovered on the dome of one craft or stood outside,his own,the fifth airship.
He wore metallic clothes,possibly of the shiny aluminum material so often described by modern witnesses. The bible itself contributes to the difficulty in presenting a precise description.One word used to describe the material of the craft(s) is “khashmal,” whose significance has been totally lost on modern biblical scholars but has been translated into the language of today’s Israelis as,electricity.
Whether Ezekiel saw one craft,four or five is a moot point. What is indisputable is that he did witness a flying machine controlled by intelligent life forms resembling human beings. And their leader,whom Ezekiel refers to as God,had a specific plan prepared for his prophet. The author of this book believes he has sorted out the mystery of Ezekiel’s vision.
2- And he said to me,”Son of dust,eat what I am giving you-eat this scroll.Then go and give its message to Israel…”And when I ate it,it tasted sweet as honey…I have made your forehead as hard as rock. So don’t be afraid of them…
Then the Spirit lifted me up and the glory of the Lord began to move away, accompanied by the sound of a great earthquake. It was the noise of the wings of the living beings as they touched against each other,and the sound of their wheels beside them.
The Spirit lifted me up and took me away to Tel Abib,another colony of Jewish exiles beside the Chebar river.
Son of dust, I have appointed you as watchman for Israel;whenever I send my people a warning,pass it on to them.
This is not the first time that a prophet had been physically hardened to withstand the likely blows of a belligerent people.After touching Jeremiah’s mouth,He tells him that he is carrying messages to the people but not to worry for,”today I have made you impervious to their attacks.They cannot harm you.”
God calls Ezekiel,”son of dust,” and this is an extremely important and misunderstood concept.The bible explains that there were two types of men,bnei ish and bnei adam. Bnei ish,meaning sons of man were the “kadmonim”
or cavemen, Neanderthal and Cro Magnan men who preceded modern man. God eliminated the bnei ish and replaced them with bnei adam,the men of the earth.
The word adam,meaning man is derived from adama,meaning earth or,as the bible used in this book insists,dust. It is a highly mistranslated expression. For example,when Jesus was asked who he was,he said that he was a ben adam.Christian theologists have translated this into the enigmatic,Son of Man,when all Jesus was saying was that he was just a human being.
When God calls Ezekiel,”son of dust,”he is actually calling him his creation.
For those who seek prophesy,the fact that God flew Ezekiel to “Tel Abib” is significant. The bible,used in this book,The Word,makes a standard error throughout its pages. The hebrew letter bet,is both a B and V sound. In fact,Tel Abib,was pronounced Tel Aviv,or the town of Springhill.
A final point,what did Ezekiel swallow that made him speak the messages of the Lord? Many modern UFO abductees claim they were implanted with communications devices and this seems the most likely explanation for Ezekiel’s tasty scroll.
9- Then,late in August of the sixth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity…the power of the Lord fell upon me. I saw what appeared to be a Man;from his waist down,he was made of fire;from his waist up,he was all amber-colored brightness.He put out what seemed to be a hand and took me by the hair.And the Spirit lifted me up in the sky and seemed to transport me to Jerusalem,to the entrance of the north gate where the large idol was that had made the Lord so angry.
Six men appeared at his call…all went into the Temple and stood beside the bronze altar.And the glory of the God of Israel rose from between the Guardian Angels where it had rested and stood above the entrance to the Temple.
10-Suddenly a throne of beautiful blue sapphire appeared in the sky above the heads of the Guardian Angels.
Then the Lord spoke to the man in the linen clothing and said,”Go in between the whirling wheels beneath the Guardian Angels, and take a handful of glowing coals and scatter them over the city.
…The Guardian Angels were standing at the south end of the Temple when the man went in. And the cloud of glory filled the inner court. Then the glory of the Lord rose from above the Guardian Angels and went over to the door of the Temple. The Temple was filled with the cloud of glory and the court of the Temple was filled with the brightness of the glory of the Lord. And the sound of the wings of the Guardian Angels was as the voice of Almighty God when he speaks and could be heard clear in the outer court.
When the Lord told the man in linen clothing to go between the Guardian Angels and take some burning coals from between the wheels,the man went in and stood beside one of the wheels,and on the of Guardian Angels reached out his hand (for each of the mighty angels had,beneath his wings,what looked like human hands)…
Each of the four Guardian Angels had a wheel beside him-“The Whirl Wheels”
as I heard them called,for each one had a second wheel crosswise within-sparkling like chrysolite,giving off a greenish-yellow glow.Because of the construction of these wheels,the Angels could go straight forward in each of four directions; they did not turn when they changed direction but could go in any of the four ways their faces looked. Each of the four wheels was covered with eyes,including the rims and spokes. Each of the four Guardian Angels had four faces…
These were the same beings I had seen beside the Chebar Canal, and when they rose into the air the wheels rose with them and stayed beside them as they flew. When the Guardian Angels stood still,so did the wheels,for the spirit of the Guardian Angels was in the wheels.
Then the glory of the Lord moved from the door of the Temple and stood above the Guardian Angels. And as I watched,the Guardian Angels flew with the wheels beside them to the east gate of the Temple. And the Glory of the God of Israel was above them.
These were the living beings I had seen beneath the God of Israel beside the Chebar Canal. I knew they were the same for each had four faces and four wings, with what looked like human hands under the wings. Their faces were identical to the faces of those I had seen at the Canal, and they travelled straight ahead,just as the others did.
So the mystery of Ezekiel 1 has been solved. This amazing passage is much clearer than that of the prophet’s first sighting. There is only one craft.
There is one leader,God, and he employs four guards to protect him.
These Guardian Angels hold an anti-gravity wheel in their hands,which allows them to fly very skillfully. And yes,they do have actual wings which are used for steering.
Williamson’s solution to the wings problem turns out to be no solution at all. And Von Daniken’s helicopter interpretation is put to rest for good.
It is an error to read Ezekiel 1 and attempt to conceptualize the prophet’s sighting without skipping ahead ten chapters. By now,Ezekiel has seen the aliens twice and he paints a much clearer picture.
The four faces of the Guardian Angels were insignia embossed on the four sides of their helmets. In Ezekiel 11,the anti-gravity Whirl Wheels are described succinctly.”Then the Guardian Angels lifted their wings and rose into the air with their wheels beside them…”The angels were not inside these wheels,they were holdling them. The wings were lowered to their sides while the angels stood and lifted horizontally when they took off.
As for the minor point of the hot coals,which could not have been very hot since a mortal man held them,they punished idolators in some way not described in this chapter. The man in linen was ordered to kill sinners in the chapter before.
11-Then the Spirit lifted me and brought me over to the east gate of the Temple…
Then the Guardian Angels lifted their wings and rose into the air with their wheels beside them.,and the glory of the God of Israel stood above them.Then the glory of the Lord rose from over the city and stood above the mountain on the east side.
Afterwards the Spirit of God carried me back to Babylon…And so ended the vision of my visit to Jerusalem. And I told the exiles everything the Lord had shown me.
Ezekiel is flown 900 miles from Babylon to Jerusalem,given a tour of the wicked spots,shuttled over to the Temple for a high-level meeting,flown over to a high mountain to take in the vista and returned home exhausted but highly excited by the journey. Thus ends the first two,highly dramatic encounters.But they are not to be the last, for the aliens have big plans for him.
37-The power of the Lord was upon me and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley of old,dry bones that were scattered everywhere across the ground. He led me around among them and then he said to me…”O dry bones…I am going to make you live and breathe again.”
40-…the hand of the Lord was upon me…he took me to the land of Israel…Going nearer,I saw a man whose face shone like bronze standing beside the Temple gate holding in his hand a measuring tape and a measuring stick…And he said to me:”the building beside the inner northern gate is for the priests who supervise the maintenance.The building beside the inner southern entrance is for the priests in charge of the altar…Then he measured the inner court (in front of the Temple) and found it to be 175 feet square.
41-The altar was 3 1/2 feet square and 5 1/4 feet high…”This,” he told me,”is the Table of the Lord.”
42-When priests leave the Holy Place-the nave of the Temple- they must change their clothes…When he finished making these measurements,he led me out…to measure the entire Temple area.He found that it was in the form of a square,875 feet long on each side,with a wall all around it to separate the restricted area from public places.
Afterward he brought me out again to the passageway through the outer wall leading to the east.And suddenly the glory of the God appeared from the east. The sound of his coming was like the roar of rushing waters and the whole landscape lighted up with his glory.It was just as I had seen in the other visions…And I fell down before him with my face in the dust. And the glory of the Lord came into the Temple through the eastern passageway…
Then the Spirit took me up and brought me into the inner court;and the glory of the Lord filled the Temple. And I heard the Lord speaking to me from within the Temple.
And the Lord said to me;”Son of dust,this is the place of my throne,and my footstool,where I shall remain among the people of Israel forever….explain to them the details of its construction.
44-Then he brought me through the north passageway to the front of the Temple.I looked and saw that the glory of the Lord filled the Temple…The Lord God says:”They must wear only linen clothing when they enter the inner court,for they must wear no wool…They must wear linen turbans and linen trousers;they must not wear anything that would cause them to perspire.
A section of this land,875 square feet,shall be designated for the Temple.
And additional 87 1/2-foot strip all around is to be left empty…”
The Angel is the Lord’s contractor. An exacting engineer,he takes Ezekiel on a tour of the construction site of the Temple and leaves him with a mental blueprint of the plan. 875 square feet are to be isolated for the airport,for crews’ quarters,for the kitchen etc., while 87 1/2 square feet is to be kept empty for the landing area.
And God reminds Ezekiel of the rules for workers. Like those of any modern hospital or computer chip factory, laborers are forbidden to wear wool or any dust-catching or sweaty clothing and must don hair- catching caps.
The instructions are specific and four hundred years later,Herod, a gentile who did not meet God personally,altered the Temple,which may have forced God and his legion to abandon it and the Jews.
In Israel today,a group,the Builders of Third Temple, have laid the plans for the reconstruction of the Third Temple and every year on Succoth try and lay the cornerstone for the new artifice. Since,the Moslems took over the holy site in the Seventh century and constructed a mosque and shrine that are entirely unsuitable for UFO manitenance,the group is prevented from going ahead with their plans. If God and his angels are to return to their Temple,the Moslem sites will have to be removed. Only then will Jews have a chance at welcoming their first messiah and Christians,their second.
Ezekiel is the premier UFO witness of the holy records.He leaves us a clear record of the construction of the spacecraft and the means of propulsion employed by the angels in earth’s gravity. He records for posterity the construction plans of a UFOport and some scholar would be advised to compare it to temples in Central and South America that may have served the same purpose.
We must be eternally grateful to Ezekiel for his superb memory and to God for creating such as fine scribe. But other prophets follow him and they add significantly to our knowledge of ancient visitations.
We will conclude our study of biblical UFO history with the last of the Old Testament prophets though the aliens clearly played a major role in the rise of Jesus. The star of Bethlehem that led the magi to the manger and signalled the exact location by hovering above it,is almost certainly another and probably the last of the alien experiments in bringing morality to the planet.
But Jesus’s mission was very different than Ezekiel’s. His mission was to organize rebellion against the Romans and to unseat their unholy and corrupt Sanhedrin. His ultimate goal was to replace them as God’s chosen king of Israel. His means were very far from peaceful. He gathered around him a group of toughs,who acted as his strongmen while challenging other strongmen such as the money-changers who were defiling the Temple and the well-organized Roman police who were preventing Israel from serving the rightful Lord.
It is the Old Testament prophet who follows Ezekiel,Daniel,who is credited with predicting the coming of the Christ and he received his messages from the aliens personally.
CHAPTER SEVEN- Signs On A Beach
“FLYING SAUCER OVER HAIFA”
Yesterday,a flying saucer was seen over the skies of Haifa. It flew high above Mount Carmel. Witnesses described the saucer seeing two ellipsoid objects.The mysterious objects were seen by a group of students and their teachers in Acco. The youths followed the saucers by foot for two minutes.
One colonel claimed the objects flew in a flexible double-formation,one after another and then horizontally. This is the second appearance of flying saucers over the country.The first was also over Haifa.
Given the complexity of other accounts,this is hardly an exciting item.
Except that it was the headline story of the national daily newspaper, Maariv on Dec.25,1952. The two Haifa sightings were Israel’s first and only flap until 1987. Then,as before,the location of a grand wave of sightings was Haifa.
The Haifa sightings were followed in the next six years by the fabulous experiences in Bet Shean,Tiberius,Kadima,Burgata and Fardis.The majority of incidents were within a five hundred square mile triangle of northern Israel with Haifa,Tiberius and Kadima its points.
Pragamatic Israeli ufologists are stumped by the concentration of encounters within such a specific area and have tried to work out the attraction. One possibility is based on reports that Israel’s nuclear arsenal is,in part,stored at a large air base near Bet Shean. The problem with the theory is that the same reports claim that much of the nuclear storage is in the south of the country at Tel Nof Air Base and under the grounds of the Dimona nuclear reactor.
Another possible attraction is the thick radar cover of northern Israel and the resulting concentration of signals. But that doesn’t begin to explain the visitations at Kadima and Burgata.
In short,the pragmatists don’t have the answer while the mystics claim they do. The leading UFO mystics in the country are Ami Achrai and the legendary Hadassah Arbel. The pragmatists view both as an embarrassment.
Arbel is described over and over as a pioneer of Israeli ufology and those who followed in her footsteps are deeply grateful for her initial contribution. What they don’t like is her reaction to her decade of UFO research. Hadassah Arbel has become a very religious Jewess who believes the current UFO wave is being led by the very God and his angels of ancient Israel. Her most famous protege,Ami Achrai believes he was chosen by a UFO to be a prophet in modern Israel.
Doron Rotem calls Achrai,”A fraud. Sure,he had a convincing encounter,but he drew all the wrong conclusions from it.” Other ufologists poohpooh Arbel and Achrai but,in fact,they are not easy to write off. And they are not the only mystics that can’t be ignored. Internationally famous Israeli psychics and healers such as Uri Geller and Zeev Kullman claim that they gained their powers after UFO encounters. Both men’s unique gifts have been demonstrated for too long for them to be called simple charlatans.
The same holds true for Arbel and Achrai. Arbel has gathered more data on local encounters than anyone in the country. Achrai was the sole witness of the most legendary of all Israeli UFO incidents. While,the author of this book chose not to document mystical contacts,the opinions of Arbel and Achrai do not fall precisely into that category.
The first sighting of the most recent Haifa wave was at 7:25,September 23,1987.The witnesses were Yaacov Buzhinski and Israel Gal who viewed the object two miles away from each other. They saw a soundless disc-shaped object the size of a 747 flying over the suburb of Neve Yaacov. The next night,the object returned,this time flying only 400 meters above the ground.
It was a saucer-shaped craft,gold and brown in color. Buzhinski saw it dive toward a building and just a few feet before it was set to crash,it turned sharply up.
The encounter was so dramatic that Buzhinski contacted the police,thus alerting local reporters. Initially, he was the object of ridicule but over the next few weeks,there were at least,eight publicized encounters by credible people. But no incident gained such worldwide exposure as that of Ami Achrai.
At 10:25 PM,September 28,1987 an auto Mechanic named Amiel (Ami) Achrai was driving on the coastal road of Israel. On the southern outskirts of Haifa, at a place known as Elijah’s Gate,Ami noticed what he thought was a helicopter about to crash about a hundred feet to his left on the sands of Shikmona Beach.
He stopped his car in the middle of the road and got out.Now he had a chance to stare at his “helicopter.” It was some 25 feet in diameter, disc- shaped with a banana-like profile,and it spun counter- clockwise.The craft sparkled as it flew and emitted occasional flashes.Beneath the object was a round red light.The craft made a loud noise like a compressed-air pump and it kicked up a windstorm that Achrai described as,”a typhoon.”
Ami stared at the craft for fifteen seconds until it dropped a load of,”charcoals,” then disappeared. He looked around him for fellow witnesses and noticed the highway,which is usually a scene of constant traffic, was empty. He decided to run to a nearby service station to seek human contact.
After just a few steps,the object reappeared somewhat to the north. This time it fell to only 20 meters above the beach and an impressive red beam or flash descended from the craft to the sands below. In a few seconds,the ship flew west over the Mediterranean and became a small orange point of light until it disappeared for good.
That was Ami Achrai’s encounter and it lasted less than a minute. What followed would change his life and turn Shikmona Beach into a such a shrine that Shirley Maclain made a pilgrimmage to the spot.
Ami returned home and for the next two days couldn’t sleep. He called the police to report the sighting but they ignored him and suggested he contact Hadassah Arbel. She took his evidence over the phone and turned down a personal meeting.
For the two days following, Ami suffered from devastating headaches in the temples,chills and weakness. Though he hated apples,he ate fifteen at a time to relieve the headaches. For some reason,the system worked. His eyes itched terribly and he couldn’t watch television without crying. His lips dried up and no amount of liquid intake cured the condition. In short,his physiology was altered by the experience with the UFO. On Yom Kippur evening,five days after the encounter,he made a decision to revisit Shikmona Beach.
The next day he began to explore the area. He located the spot where the UFO had dropped the “charcoals,” and found the area strangely burnt. For instance,plastic bottles were melted flat,in nearly perfect circles and only their rims were charred. He saw a strange red rock and picked it up. It changed color immediately to white and then fell apart in his hands,becoming finally,a white powder with the consistency of flour.
He reported his findings to Arbel and the next day at 3:00,they went exploring Shikmona Beach together. Arbel was overwhelmed by the site and spent time gathering evidence and putting it in bags. They were about the depart when according to Ami,”A voice told me,’you’re not finished yet.’I walked,as if guided, north and then found the imprint of the ship.”
What Arbel and Achrai discovered was one of the most enduring proofs of UFO existence ever reported.Standing on a dune overlooking a patch of thorny weeds,Achrai saw a sideview of his UFO burned into the sand.
He called Arbel over and she was astounded. An imprint of a fifteen meter long UFO was scorched into the sand. The overall shape was like a slightly angled boomerang,corresponding with Achrai’s orginal report that the side-view of the UFO he witnessed was banana- shaped.Its size,ten meters by four,also corresponded with Achrai’s original estimate.
As if this sight wasn’t exhilarating enough,Achrai spotted the driver of the UFO. Although most of the weeds were destroyed in the flash, some were still growing in eight patches. They formed dinstict patterns. There were five circles of about a foot’s diameter.Four were found in concentric dips underneath the imprint lined up in twos,while one was in the center on top.
On the right side of the imprint near the tip were three images. Farthest left was spade shape ,near the tip,two rectangles stood upright and in the middle was the seated astronaut,facing the rectangles.
Arbel and Achrai descended to the beach and started initial experiments.
First the ufonaut was measured. He would have stood three and a half feet tall,in line with reports worldwide of a common race of aliens. Arbel threw sand in one of the holes and was amazed to witness the sand being pushed back out by some invisible force. Later,other investigators would fill the holes with sand and only to find the holes in their original form within hours. She filled some nylon bags with the scorched sand and went to work reporting her find.
She notified the police and this time,they investigated.Shortly after the astounded policeman handed in their preliminary report,Arbel was ordered by the station commander to keep mum about the incident. She refused and notified the press and a scientist from the Technion Institute,Israel’s version of MIT,located in Haifa.
He took measurements of the scorched sand and found its level of magnetism to be 6,000 times higher than the surrounding ground. He made a report to Arbel which is still considered one of the strongest arguments for a UFO encounter of a very strange kind at Shikmona Beach. Stronger yet was the visible fact of the imprint.Even the greatest skeptics of Israel’s academic community quoted in the media,could not plausibly explain how the sand was burned to the texture of finely ground charcoal nor why anyone would do it.
The ufologist’s explanation was that the sand was charred with micro-waves.
Arbel’s initial conclusion was that the craft had trouble with its magnetic system and either accidentally took a magnetic picture of itself or deliberately did so to build up power.
Within a day of the discovery,journalists visited the site,some of whom reported chapped lips after. Within two days,Shikmona had become a tourist attraction drawing thousands of people and even an ice-cream truck to refresh the curious. None of the subsequent encounters was ever the national news story that Shikmona became. Overnight,Ami Achrai become a media star.
But life was not easy for the new celebrity. He was undergoing terrifying changes. When he slept,he felt electric charges throughout his body. Two black spots grew under his lower eye-lashes. The strangest physical reaction was a small hard ball that grew on his chest. Ami cut the ball off and,”I gave it to my father. He put it on the floor of his balcony and we,my father,wife,kids,watched it start bouncing on its own.”
Then one evening Ami was enjoying a slice of watermelon when his spoon started wagging from side to side. In time he would bend knives at will,a la Uri Geller.
Most confusing of all was the appearance of letters and shapes before his eyes at most inopportune times,like when he was driving or working. By now Achrai thought he was going insane and he sought answers.
The papers reported his hallucinations and printed his sketches of what he was seeing. Strangers recognized the letters and shapes.Some of the letters were of Sinai script,the earliest form of written Hebrew,and the shapes resembled blood cells.
“I wasn’t an educated person,”Achrai admits.”I never read and I’m not proud of that. But I started reading books about medicine,biology and ancient script to get to the bottom of my visions.”
Life was not simple for his pretty wife,Aviva. She thought her husband went mad,until,as she explains,”We were driving along the coast and it happened to me. The whole windshield was covered with letters and shapes. I told Ami to stop the car. I got out and the sky was full of them. I couldn’t get rid of them.”
Next to be afflicted with visions of letters was his father. Then his daughter started drawing them at nursery school.Achrai came to the logical conclusion that he was emitting some kind of force that affected people near him. He just didn’t understand why.
A ufologist called him and told him to read Ezekiel,Chapter One for some answers. “I read it,”Ami recalls,”and there was my UFO. The same one Ezekiel described.”
Ami turned religious,not fanatically but faithfully.He came to the conclusion after much consideration that he was a prophet,a modern day Ezekiel with a mission. He was to heal the sick and bring morality to the world.To this end he began conducting healing sessions and people reported miracles. Today he conducts four groups a week in front of hundreds of people who claim to see letters and symbols emitted from Ami’s face. A long list of people claim to have been relieved or cured of sundry ailments by Ami’s power.
Arbel was changing too. In 1988,I called her hoping to sell the Shikmona story to,say,the National Enquirer. Even then,her explanation for the encounter was religious. Overlooking Shikmona Beach is Elijah’s Cave. On that spot Elijah is traditionally believed to have challenged the baal worshippers to a duel of the gods. Two bulls were slaughtered and Elijah dared the heathens’god to roast them. After baal failed,Elijah’s God sent a flash from the sky and presto,instant supper.Elijah,of course,was later carried to his final destination in a whirlwind.
None of this was lost on Arbel who told me,”The spot where Ami saw the UFO was known to the crew. Their people had been there 2,500 years before and they were back again.”
After the famous sighting in the Jezreel Valley,Arbel correctly noted that the UFO hovered minutes from Har Meggido,known in English as Armageddon and connected that incident to the war between Gog and Magog. Her conviction is that the wave of encounters will end in Jerusalem.
Ami Achrai is a very sincere,likeable gentleman.He told his story for the umpteenth time with great enthusiasm and I appreciated the time he spent helping me get my facts correct. With him were two workers from his garage,there to install electric wiring in his newly refitted kitchen.
Joining him later was a beautiful middle-aged woman from Nahariya,thirty miles north,who purportedly arrived to see the kitchen.
The workers confirmed what the press had been reporting;UFOs were overflying Ami’s garage with some frequency and fellow workers had seen them. The pretty visitor confirmed that she saw forms emitted from Ami’s face and was a confirmed follower of his.
His philosophy is simple;if mankind does not learn to love and respect each other,we’re all doomed. And he knows when the day of destruction will arrive but has been ordered not to reveal it.
Ami can turn on his power or switch into “neutral”. He used the terminology of a mechanic to describe many of his experiences.He agreed to treat me to a display.
I admit,I was tired. It was the end of a long day of interviews and driving.
But I did allow myself to stare at his temples until my mind was relaxed and I did feel a drug-like stupor and thought I saw a UFO on his right temple.
But I gave no sign of being anything other than the skeptical reporter.
As a parting gift,he gave me a small bag of charred Shikmona Beach UFO sand.
I rubbed it on my hands and I thought I felt an electrical charge. What confused me more was that this was sand,yet it stuck to the skin and couldn’t be removed without considerable effort.The next morning,a film of the material still covered the skin and my hands were puckered.
I left his home and began the long journey back to my family in Bet Shemesh,two and a half hours away. I pushed down the cigarette lighter and it never popped up. Next to go were my lights.They were dimmed to about 10% of normal illumination. Finally,my windshield wipers slowed down to a wipe every ten seconds or so. I had bought a new battery just three months ago and it couldn’t be dying. Nonetheless,I switched the wipers off when the rain lapsed to conserve power and they started to wipe the windshield. When I switched them back on,they stopped.
I was determined to make my way home anyway,and followed the cat’s eyes of the highway to a garage and filled up. I removed the key and after,the car would not start.Two attendants pushed it and it jump- started. By now I was going to ditch the ultra-magnetic sand but I came up with a different strategy. Doron Rotem had to record the phenomenon and I made my way to his home in Kiron,eighty miles away. He would later tell me,”It’s a rainy night.
Cars short out when it’s this wet out. Don’t jump to conclusions so quickly.”
The next morning I took my car into an electric repair shop. The source of my problem was a loose alternator belt.I asked the mechanic if that is a common problem.He answered,”Not really but it happens.”
My conclusion; it was all coincidence.
But Ami’s sighting on Shikmona Beach wasn’t. The events there continued to astound.On June 6,1988, the story of a Haifa teenager,Naveh Navi appeared in Israel’s papers. Two and a half weeks earlier she saw a large UFO hover over the Mediterranean. She rushed to the closest police station and reported her sighting. The policemen ignored her. Like Ami Achrai she felt driven to search for clues. And like Ami Achrai she found the answer on Shikmona Beach. One hundred yards from Ami’s famous imprint, was one of her own.
Naveh’s UFO was scorched into the sand.It was fifteen meters long and six meters high. The bottom half was shaped like the previous imprint but this time a cone shaped roof was clearly visible. The number of holes was reduced from five to three.The large one rested in the middle of the imprint and two smaller holes were located on either side under it.
Naveh turned to Hadassah Arbel to investigate and two weeks later,Arbel released news of the landing to the media. It did not have nearly the impact of the first Shikmona Beach encounter. Nor did Naveh report the same drastic bodily changes as Achrai had experienced.
At about the same time. Arbel made an exploratory trip to Elijah’s Cave,just above the two UFOs embossed into the sand and made a remarkable discovery.
Imprinted into the wall of the cave wasdrawing of the UFO shape recently left on the beach below. The resemblence of the 2,500 year old drawing with the recent imprints was more than uncanny,it was spooky.
Even spookier was the next incident at Shikmona Beach. At 2:30 AM on a warm Satuday morning in late April,1989,two teenagers,Ida Biderman and Alon Eilat,searched for a quiet nook on deserted Shikmona Beach,it is assumed,to make love. Suddenly,a huge glowing object,which they described as,”a pillar of fire,” fell noiselessly on the sands near them. They saw the object falling for six seconds and guessed its length to be twenty meters and its width,six meters. The object burst into flames that reached fifteen meters into the sky.
The couple ran to the crash site but were turned back ten meters away by the heat emitted.The flames died down ten minutes later and what remained of the wreckage were elliptical shaped shards of an unidentifiable material which continued to burn. The couple tried to extinguish one shard by throwing sand on it but this caused flames to shoot up and increased the material’s apparant flammability.
A short time later a police squad car arrived,transporting Hadassah Arbel to the site. She reported that,”The shards were still burning and when we threw rocks at them,they transformed into a flour-like material.Many of the shards fell into the water and though they were glowing,they weren’t hot.
The next day,ten hours after the crash,the private UFO investigators, including Avi Grief, arrived. Though the shards had been immersed in the Mediterranean for almost half a day,their internal fires flared on. Grief photographed the fiery material and the pictures as seen today,are lasting testimony to a UFO crash on Shikmona Beach.
The shards were examined by Professor Shavit of the Technion and found to be magnesium. In 1957,a UFO crashed just offshore from a crowded Brazilian beach leaving hundreds of glowing shards in the water. They were tested and found to be 100% pure magnesium,which could not be produced on Earth with the technology of the time. This was the earliest identification of UFO material and the incident is viewed as a classic of ufology.
On two occasions within nine months,UFOs left their marks,literally,on Shikmonah Beach. On the third occasion,ten months later,either the craft crashed or another spectacular message was left.Now the obvious question, why did the UFOs return three times to Shikmona Beach? The question is as confusing as why the UFOs landed three times in the field behind Tsipora Carmels house.
The practical Israeli ufologists are stumped. Another group think they know the answer;the angels have returned.
Chapter Eight: Conclusion
Daniel 7-…I saw a great storm on a mighty ocean…Then four animals came up out of the water,each different from the other. The first was like a lion,but it had eagle’s wings! And as I watched,its wings were pulled off so that it could no longer fly,and it was left standing on the ground,on two feet,like a man;and a man’s mind was given to it. The second animal looked like a bear with its paws raised,ready to strike…The third of these strange animals looked like a leopard,but on its back it had wings like those of a bird and it had four heads!
Then… a fourth animal rose up…too dreadful to describe and incredibly strong. It devoured some of its victims by tearing them apart with its huge iron teeth and others it crushed beneath its feet.It was far more brutal and vicious than any of the other animals,and it had ten horns.
As I was looking at the horns,suddenly another small horn appeared among them,and three of the first ones were yanked out,roots and all,to give it room;this little horn had a man’s eyes and a bragging mouth.
I watched as thrones were put in place and…the Almight God sat down to judge.His clothing was white as snow,his hair like whitest wool. He sat on a fiery throne brought in on flaming wheels and a river of fire flowed from before him…
Next I saw the arrival of a Man-or so he seemed to be- brought there on clouds from heaven…
10- Then one day in early April…I looked up and suddenly there before me stood a person robed in linen garments,with a belt of purest gold around his waist,and glowing luxurious skin! From his face came blinding flashes like lightning and his eyes were pools of fire; his arms and feet shone like polished brass, and his voice was like the roaring of a vast multitude of people.
I, Daniel,alone saw this great vision; the men with me saw nothing but they were suddenly filled with unreasoning terror and ran to hide…
…Then someone-he looked like a man-touched my lips and I could talk again…
In 1986, an Israeli,Yehuda Alperin,was visited by aliens in his home. His description of the visitors was not unlike that of Daniels’s. They also wore clothes of shiny,metallic material and spoke,telepathically and deeply. But more coincidentally,Alperin’s wife was in the room,absolutely terrified of a vision she could not see but whose presence she felt strongly. It is an apparent power of the visitors to block their presence from others,while they have not developed a technology to completely hide their presence.
As for Daniel’s aliens,they were probably the same as Ezekiel‘s.The animal insignias are the same, as is the four-sided helmet. What makes Daniel’s testimony unique is his witnessing of a bulldozer,devouring everything in its path with its iron “teeth” and hydraulic “horns.”
The aliens outline for Daniel,their plans for the region,giving him prophetic powers.
The prophet Joel was also blessed with a visitation that left an everlasting impression on him.
Joel 2- What a might army! It covers the m0untains like night. How great,how powerful these “people” are…Fire goes before them and follows them on every side!.. Look at them leaping along the tops of the mountains! Listen to the noise they make,like the rumbling of chariots,or the roar of a fire sweeping across a field, and like a mighty army moving into battle…No weapon can stop them…The earth quakes before them and the heavens tremble.The sun and moon are obscured…
Joel is very impressed by the sound of the squadron of flying fortresses.
Like others before him, he compares the sound of the engines as the rumbling of chariots, though he adds an apt aural comparison to a wildfire. What he misses in his description is the sound of rushing water,the most common comparison in the scriptures.
An interesting point is that the sun and moon are obscured,probably deliberately to sow confusion and this goes a long way to explaining similar previous phenomena,especially Joshua’s miracle of the sun and moon standing still in the sky.
The next prophet to have,what seems to be,an experience with advanced technology is Jonah,who is swallowed by what must be a submarine. That is unless he could survive three days of piscine digestive juices.However, a lack of detailed description prevents further analysis. Such is not the case with Micah.
Micah 1-Look! He is coming. He leaves his throne in heaven and comes to earth,walking on the mountaintops.They melt beneath his feet and flow into the valleys like wax in fire,like water pouring down a hill.
Micah’s short passage reinforces many others that preceded it. What follows is the outstanding evidence left by Zechariah,second only to Ezekiel’s in detail.
Zechariah 2-When I looked around again,I saw a man carrying a yardstick in his hand.
“Where are you going I asked?”
“To measure Jerusalem,”he said.
5- I looked up again and saw a scroll flying through the air.
“What do you see,”he asked.
“A flying scroll,”I replied,”It appears to be about thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide.”
…Then the Angel left me for awhile, but he returned and said,”Look up!
Something is travelling through the sky!”
“What is it?”I asked…Suddenly the heavy lead cover on the basket was lifted off,and I could see a woman sitting inside the basket!..he pushed her back in the basket and clamped down the heavy lid again…Then I saw two women flying before us,with wings like those of a stork…
6- Then I looked up again and saw four chariots coming from between what looked like two mountains made of brass…”And what are these,sir,”I asked the angel.He replied,”These are the four heavenly spirits who stand before the Lord of all the earth;they are going to do his work…”
9- The Lord shall lead his people as they fight!.His arrows shall fly like lightning;the Lord God shall sound the trumpet call and go out against his enemies like a whirlwind off the desert from the south…”
The flying basket is a new description of a UFO and it’s nice to know that women are among the aliens. As usual,there are four craft in the Lord’s host and they still fight with arrows and trumpet calls.
The flying scroll is also a new image though it strongly resembles the pillar of fire of Exodus.We are grateful to Zecharia for leaving us with the dimensions of the craft,thirty feet long and fifteen wide,which are almostly exactly the measurements of the crafts that landed at least 20 in the Kadima area, one of modern Israel‘s most publicized UFO landing sites.
There is only one chapter left in the Jewish Scriptures,Malachi,and it is worth noting God’s final message, for He clearly has a favorite prophet.
Malachi 4-“See, I will send you another prophet like Elijah…His preaching will bring fathers and children together again,to be of one mind and heart,for they will know that if they do not repent, I will come and utterly destroy their land.”
While this is the end of the Jewish scriptures,it is not the end of Jewish extraterrestrial writings.
The Kabbala,which delves into the Scriptures and reveals profound knowledge only to chosen initiates describes seven worlds which the aliens told the Hebrews existed. They are:
Geh-This is a dark shadowy world,inhabited by large animals and by vegetarian humanoids who subsist on fruit for no grains or cereals grow there.
Neziah-Another planet populated by vegetarians but warmed with a red sun.The inhabitants are small and instead of noses,have two breathing holes in the center of their faces. This is the most common description of alien visitor described by modern witnesses.
Tziah- Is warmed by two suns but the land is dry. The inhabitants,who are very handsome,drill wells to supply themselves with water.
Thebel- Its inhabitants are strictly fish eaters and the planet is located far from its sun.Its population is the most advanced known and has mastered the art of reviving the dead,thus overcoming mortality.
Erez- Its people are the descendents of Adam,hence,we are their anscestors.
They have also spread their seed on Adamah,which must be Earth.The inhabitants of Adamah grow crops and domesticate animals.They are a frustrated people,constantly making war on each other. The day is divided into sunlight and night and at night,the constellations are visible. The people were visited by the inhabitants of Thebel who tried to impart superior knowledge but the visits have been forgotten.
Arqa-Arqans are the most ardent space travelers and speak the languages of all the places they visit automatically. An Arqan is mentioned in the Zohar,a medieval Jewish mystical book. Apparently,an Arqan was stranded on earth some 1,800 years ago,hid in a cave and climbed out to ask one Rabbi Yossi,the name of the planet he was trapped on. Among the many pieces of information he told Rabbi Yossi was that the constellations are arranged differently as seen from Arqa.
Naturally,modern scholars must be astounded that the ancient Jews could transcribe descriptions of double-sun systems,red suns and the different perspectives of the constellations as seen from sundry points in the galaxy.
In Whitley Strieber’s modern classic accounts of UFO abductions,he and many other abductees are told that they have been,”chosen,” just as the ancient Jews were told that they were,”the chosen people.”
Chosen for what? Obviously to learn advanced civilization and spread the knowledge throughout the world. If that was the mission then it has succeeeded,at least,in part.
The question of why the aliens refused to step in to try and save the Jews from the Romans is theologically complicated. The first possibility is that Herod’s rebuilding of the Temple was not to holy specifications and their headquarters had to be abandoned. Another possibility is that Jesus was sent to lead a rebellion and failed.
The aliens may have been few in number. Earlier in the bible,hordes of angels are written about. By prophetic times,only four small craft and probably a mother ship controlled by God are referred to. In Daniel an angel admits,”for twenty-one days the mighty Evil Spirit who overrules the kingdom of Persia blocked my way.”
Five ships undoubtedly restricted military activity. At some point ammunition would run out and shows of military force would have to be limited. For this reason, the aliens saved their best ammo, and lured allies to their cause with shows of technological prowess,interpreted as miracles.
It could well have been,that by sheer force of numbers,the Romans would have been victorious against the aliens,especially if the extraterrestrial armory had run out.
Or,there may be another answer. By scattering the Jews worldwide with their religion strongly inculcated in the people’s souls,God may have assured their survival.And in their travels,the more enlightened of the barbarians would be persuaded to adopt their ways.
One example of many; during the bubonic plague of the fourteenth century,the Jews of Europe had a much higher survival rate because of their superior hygienic practices. Most barbarians reacted by blaming the Jews for the plague,while a minority were wise enough to investigate what they were doing right. Hence,medieval medicine advanced.
Jesus was a prophet who only wanted to preach to the Jews and his goal was eactly what he claimed it was,to become King of Israel. If He came down to earth today,he would be most uncomfortable in a church but would feel right at home in a synagogue.
Jesus’s relatives who continued His ministry in Jerusalem kept Jewish laws and were not interested in preaching their faith,which was based on overthrowing the Romans and restoring the kingdom of Israel,to the gentiles.
That was Paul’s vision and it certainly came to him in a moment of profound mysticism resembling alien encounters today.
If the aliens realized that mission of Israel had failed,they may have taken a different tack by spreading the laws of the Jews to the gentiles. The early Christian church was Jewish and it spread with the wanderings of an exiled people. With a few basic changes in liturgy,the same message of morality and personal cleanliness could reach the majority gentiles.
UFO sightings are recorded throughout the world during the years of the Jewish exile but they are scattered compared to the intense,vivid and constant experiences of the biblical Israelites.In the nineteenth century,for example,references to strange flying objects are almost totally absent until the 1890s when the sightings return in the American West.
Then there is a gap of fifty years when few sightings are recorded until the Second World War when both Allied and Nazi pilots reported the “foo fighters,” unexplained bright objects that accompanied them on thousands of their flights. Naturally,the pilots assumed the enemy had developed a miraculous secret air weapon,the likes of which had never been manufactured before.
At the time of these sightings and literally beneath them,the Jews were facing the greatest survival crisis in their history. It is a possibility that the Angels of the Jews finally returned to their people in their greatest hour of need,if not to intervene,then to observe what could have been,the final demise of their experiment.
Coincidentally or not,in 1947 when Israel was fighting for its revival, Kenneth Arnold witnessed a large squadron of UFOs flying over the Rocky Mountains of Washington State and initiated the era of “flying saucers.” In that same year,a craft alledly but most likely,crashed near Roswell,New Mexico,leaving in its charred ruins,the bodies of several extraterrestrials.
In 1948,the state of Israel rose from the ashes of the Holocaust, a seeming historical impossibility and the aliens understood that their experiment withstood the eons. The message they had instilled in the Jewish people was so powerful.that it permitted a nation of refugees placed in the midst of ignorant savages,to survive every danger,including organized genocide.
From 1948 to the present,hundreds of millions of people have witnessed, at least,the alien craft flying,while thousands of others have had personal encounters with the crews of the spacecraft.
What may have brought the aliens back in such a wave,is the possibility of their Temple headquarters being rebuilt in Jerusalem. Certainly that is the belief of the pioneer of Israeli ufology,Hadassah Arbel. She notes that the incredible landings on Shikmona Beach were only a few hundred yards below the Carmel Mountain sight of one of Elijah’s encounters. As far as she is concerned,the UFO flap that Israel has been witnessing since about 1990,will culminate in a landing on the Temple Mount of Jerusalem.
To this we can only answer,perhaps. What is indisputable is the physical evidence left behind in Israel,that makes those visitations special. The aliens are extremely interested in Israel right now and especially in the north of the country.
The landings coincide with frightening developments in Israel.In 1990, Scud missiles landed in the land. At that time,they were not equipped with nuclear warheads. If they land again in the future,they will likely be launched with such devestation from Iran.
We,in Israel, can only hope they are here,once again,to protect us from our barbarous enemies for the modern Israelites are threatened with annihilation.
The central question,the author had,when researching and preparing the biblical sections of this book,was whether his interpretation was blasphemous. The conclusion reached was that the people of Israel were chosen by God to spread a universal message and what difference does it make how this God is conceptualized?. The message He imparted is still superior.
The author contacted a friend of his who is an orthodox rabbi and presented him with a scenario.Iif someone accepted the holy writings as inspired and followed each commandment loyally,is he a good Jew? The answer,of course,was yes. The next question was,what if that same person who obeyed the commandements of the Scriptures believing them to be holy,viewed the God who inspired them,not as the omnipotent and omniscient creator of the universe,but rather as the leader of an extraterrestrial mission whose goal wasto advance the morality,genes and knowledge of the human race?
Unfortunately,the answer was hardly an unqualified yes. However,not all was lost. According to his interpretation,since God created the universe,it is not out of the question that he created life throughout the heavens.
And,he added,”If you believe in the Torah and its commandments,no matter why,then you believe in God. Period.”
