The teardrop Ufo is indeed a most unusual type of craft, given it’s shape changing capabilities when in flight, which in turn makes it extremely difficult to accurately describe.
However, because of the volume of serious independent reports we felt that we must include the teardrop craft along with some of the characteristics that have been repeatedly reported.
This craft is mostly seen with the teardrop pointed downwards. Mostly the length had been described as from a few feet in length to around 30 feet or more.
The colour scheme of this craft is quite vast. Daytime colours have mostly been reported as silvery white, blue-white, green and black.
It is not known if this craft is metallic, although references have been made by witnesses as liquid metal. Evening colours have been reported as being the same in daytime, with the exception of the tail of the teardrop which may be red or orange and give the appearance of a plume or fiery trailer.
This craft may be accompanied by a humming or buzzing sound when witnessed close up, and has been known to cause electrical interference in vehicles, and the surrounding area.
Key Characteristics:
- Teardrop shape with a rounded front and tapering tail.
- Often moving rapidly.
- Sometimes leaves a trail or glows.
Notable Sightings:
A well-known sighting of a teardrop-shaped UFO occurred in 1966 during the Westall Incident in Melbourne, Australia. Multiple witnesses, including schoolchildren and teachers, reported seeing a teardrop-shaped object landing in a field before rapidly taking off.

While driving home I suddenly noticed a small object moving due south at an extraordinary rate of speed.
I tried to later dismiss the event as a meteor, but realized it was well below the scattered clouds. Compared to several airlines in approaching pattern near by it was astounding how fast it moved.
I have been buzzed by F-18’s before and thought that was fast..however this object was gone over the horizon in an instant. The object appeared from the North over the McDowell Mts. that separate Scottsdale and Fountain Hills. This being said: The object caught my eye at my “10 o’clock” and I lost it out over the reservation to the south of Shea Ave. at my “2 o’clock”…….I would approximate I witnessed the object travel a distance of around 10 miles in just about a second or so.
It was silvery white and a slender teardrop in shape..and a slight reddish/orange “after burner” was aft…but not trailing as a meteor would do. The thing moved so fast there was not really anyway to catch a real focussed glimpse as far as detail goes.
I have 20/10 vision, take no drugs, do not drink and was unstressed and was positively NOT looking for such a thing. I have attempted to rationalize the event and cannot find an explanation. Not really sure what the heck it was, but I am a very active outdoorsman and was an ecology major in college and have been witness to many of natures odd events….in almost every environment the US has to offer….but this is like nothing….nothing I have ever seen.

NEW YORK BRIGHT CYLINDER SPOTTED MINEOLA — On June 2, 2000, at 10:20 PM, north of the North Star, we noticed what appeared to be a very slow moving teardrop shaped fuzzy object that glowed very dimly and appeared to wobble back and forth as it moved southeast.
We hurriedly retrieved binoculars and my brother looked first. He exclaimed in a shaky voice that it was a “UFO.” Nevertheless, I was sure he was looking at an airplane that was out of focus; so, I took the binoculars and zeroed in on the object.
I could not believe what I saw. It was not an airplane. Rather, it was a tear-shaped object with a dim, fixed light at the top, and several lights at the bottom seemingly surrounded by a haze. It moved in an irregular fashion in a wobbly circle. It appeared as though the object was tumbling across the sky. It then turned some 30 degrees to the right, and eventually disappeared into the haze. We looked at the sky intently for another half hour but did not see the object again.

Teardrop shaped object sighted over Richland, Washington.
My mate and I were watching for parachute jumpers over the Richland airport when I observed what appeared to be a child’s balloon at first sight. It appeared to be moving quite slowly and to the northeast away from us.
The object made no noise and appeared to have small wing- like appendages on each side of it. Then we observed that the object appeared to be observing a Cessna jump plane in the area that was below it and slightly behind it. One of the individuals in the Cessna jumped from the aircraft and the object above it (approximately 3000 to 4000 ft.) accelerated away at an incredible speed to the northeast.
There was no contrail and the only sound discernible was that of the Cessna aircraft. I questioned the pilot and occupants of the aircraft and they advised that they did not see the craft. The pilot seemed completely uninterested. This incident occurred directly over the Richland Airport and the objects altitude was between 7000 and 10,000 ft.
