Because of the many similarities between the oval/lenticular craft and the more common domed saucer, it is with great difficulty that a separate identity is maintained for this craft The lenticular craft is in general oval in shape, and is most often reported as a disc, either oval or round, sometimes having a low dome on top. Size range is tremendous, varying from something like 8 inches for a lenticular “foo-fighter” of World War II, to upwards of around 30 meters

The nighttime neon-like, solid-colour luminescence emanates from an envelope of air around the objects like a halo, rather than from the crafts directly. This halo tends to obscure the vehicle, making the edges indistinct. Around lenticular and disc saucers the halo is most concentrated near the rim, more extensive below than above. At night there are several variations of colour. Some carry running lights in many patterns. Sometimes they blink, making the object look like a Christmas tree. Others are solidly lit in red, orange, amber, yellow, blue or blue- violet. The solid color’s resemble neon lighting. Like the domed saucer, the daylight color of the lenticular disc type craft range from brightly polished silver to a dull aluminum in appearance, and again are often darker underneath in a central circular area, or in an annular ring near the rim. These types of craft have been witnessed to land with and without landing gear in reeds, or soft terrain, and low-hovering lenticular and disk saucers sometimes swirl down grass rings.
Two Interesting Ufo photos
These two photos both taken by boys strangely enough. The top photo was taken in Michigan around 1967,and the second in California,show a very similar looking ufo. Both appear to have a sort of ‘tail fin’

Notice that none of the sailors working on the bow were aware of the Ufo.

Oval Flying Discs From Mr. Keller
I thought that you would like to know of an incident that occurred in late spring, 1936 or 1937 when my family and I saw between 10 and 12 UFOs.
It was more or less a Sunday afternoon routine to jump into the family car for a drive in the country for a change of scenery and a stop somewhere along the way for an ice-cream treat or some other concoction. On this occasion, we stopped early because of low hanging clouds, general overcast and what looked to be a threat of approaching inclement weather. We parked our car at Narragansett and North Avenues where at that time existed a taffy-apple stand. After returning to our car, I, as a thirteen year old boy would do, began performing a neck-breaking act from the rear window to get a better “biting angle” by looking skyward and holding my taffy apple directly above my face. There I saw my UFOs about 5 degrees south of my overhead view. At this time in my life it was an exciting experience just to see and hear the approach of an airplane and to stop whatever one was doing just to admire and gaze in awe at this amazing feat. However, we really thought nothing more of this sighting of UFOs other than to say “how curious”, or “isn’t that interesting?” and other unexciting phrases. We watched these objects cavorting and doing their acrobatics for approximately 10 minutes, when suddenly they converged, as if on signal, to one point under the clouds; stacking one above the other and climbing vertically up into the cloud bank and disappearing from sight. I say between and 10 and 12 UFOs because of their constant motion and eccentric darting movements which made it virtually impossible to make an accurate count. Some were hovering absolutely still while a few would be darting haphazardly to and fro, coming to stops that were unbelievable. Their darting motions were of one constant speed with no visible evidence of acceleration or deceleration, comparable to sliding a checker piece on a checkerboard with one’s index finger in quick, jerky movements. All this activity took place beneath the clouds within an area roughly 500 feet in diameter. They were all identical in size, shape and colors.

One of the more intriguing UFO sightings was reported at 7:30am on October 18,1982. Gary Fortenberry and Jimmy Bumgarner, two employees at the McGuire Nuclear Station on Lake Norman, who were driving to work on Highway 73 at the Catawba River (Lincoln County) when they encountered an unknown. They watched a dull silver oval UFO with “four legs” above a nearby fogbank. During the daylight encounter, they first mistook it for a water tank, but later in the day when they returned home from work, the fog had lifted and no water tank was to be seen anywhere in the area. They did notice that high voltage lines from the power plants were in the general area of the earlier sightings. When first seen the UFO was about 250 feet above the ground The eyewitnesses had worked at McGuire for six years without experiencing anything unusual. Several months before, when UFOs again visited the same location, the power fluctuated, before the UFOs left the area.
